Willy Adames homered in the first inning Sunday to notch the Giants’ first 30-homer season since Barry Bonds hit 45 in 2004.
The Giants were definitely hoping for this outcome; they had Adames lead off for the first time this season just in case it might lead to an extra at-bat. As it turned out, Adames only needed the first. The free agent signing was stuck on 28 for 14 games before hitting No. 29 on Friday. Of his 30 homers this season, seven came against the hapless Rockies.

Willy Adames went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer in the Giants’ 5-3 win over the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.
With two runners on ahead of Adames to start the first inning, he made Zac Gallen pay with a three-run blast to give the Giants the early lead. The 30-year-old shortstop is up to 28 homers, 87 runs scored, 81 RBI, and nine steals while slashing .230/.318/.432 across 612 plate appearances.

Giants infielders Willy Adames and Matt Chapman in addition to Rockies starter Kyle Freeland were ejected from Tuesday’s game at Coors Field.
There weren’t a ton of fireworks in this relatively tame donnybrook, but it still led to a trio of ejections. The benches emptied after Rockies starter Kyle Freeland and Rafael Devers exchanged words while the latter rounded the bases following a gargantuan home run into the right-field seats. There could wind up being some additional disciplinary action from the league in the coming days.

Willy Adames went 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBI in an 8-2 blowout of the Rockies on Monday.
Adames hit one of three homers for the Giants in the blowout win that dropped the Rockies to 39-99 on the season. The 29-year-old shortstop has gone deep 26 times, and he’s now driven in 75 runs; giving him an outside shot at a 100-RBI campaign. The power production has been fine. The .230 average and eight stolen bases have made the first season with Adames have been at least somewhat disappointing from a fantasy perspective.

Willy Adames hit a solo homer, but the Giants were shellacked by the Orioles on Saturday.
All Adames had to do was hit seven more solo homers and the Giants would have only lost this game by three runs. It’s the 25th homer of the season for the shortstop, and he’s driven in 71 runs. He also committed his 15th error, if you’re curious.

Willy Adames went 4-for-6, stole a base and scored three runs in a 15-8 win over the Orioles on Friday.
Adames and the Giants were able to pick up 18 hits while scoring a couple of touchdowns against the Baltimore pitching staff. All of his were singles, if you’re looking for a reason to complain. Adames has been mediocre in his first season with San Francisco from a fantasy perspective, so fantasy managers can appreciate efforts like this even more. It won’t be a huge surprise if he finishes 2025 on a high note.

Willy Adames went 2-for-4 with a pair of homers and three RBI on Thursday, leading the Giants to a 4-3 victory over the visiting Cubs.
Adames gave the Giants an early 2-1 advantage as he ambushed a first-pitch fastball from Shota Imanaga for a 417-foot (107.0 mph EV) two-run blast in the home half of the first inning. He then launched a game-tying, 400-foot (102.4 mph EV) solo shot off of another Imanaga fastball in the sixth inning. Adames has struggled offensively in his first season with the Giants, slashing an underwhelming .224/.313/.415 with 24 homers, 69 RBI and seven stolen bases in 566 plate appearances.

Willy Adames went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs against the Brewers on Friday.
With the two-homer game, Adames is up to 22 home runs on the year. The 29-year-old shortstop received an ovation from the Brewers fans after playing there last year and proceeded to go off on their team with two home runs. Adames’ slow start is to blame for his .224 average, but his 22 home runs show he’s picked up the power in a major way in the second half.
