    White Sox signed OF Wynton Bernard to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
    A longtime minor league journeyman, Bernard finally made it to the big leagues during the 2022 campaign, getting into 12 contests for the Rockies. The 33-year-old outfielder spent last year at the Triple-A level between Colorado and Toronto, posting an .817 IPS with 11 homers and 41 stolen bases across 571 plate appearances in 126 games.

He makes for a nice depth signing for the Blue Jays on account of his speed and defensive prowess.

    After toiling in the minor leagues for 10 seasons, the 31-year-old outfielder earns his first trip to the big leagues. He was having an impressive season at Triple-A Albuquerque, slashing .325/.374/.588 with 17 homers, 74 RBI and 26 stolen bases in 87 games. He’s starting in center field and batting eighth for the Rockies on Friday night.

    Bernard has been playing baseball in organizations since 2013, but has yet to make his MLB debut. That could change if he gets a chance to play while with the club. The outfielder isn’t worth a fantasy addition, but it’s an awesome story of perseverance.

He’ll serve as organizational outfield depth for the Rockies this season.

    Bernard signed with the Cubs in January of 2018, and struggled in his time with Triple-A Iowa with a .574 OPS over 61 games. He was much better in Double-A Tennessee (.295/.362/.371), and the 28-year-old could spend time at both levels again in 2019.
