Rangers 3B prospect Xavier Turner homered and drove in two runs Tuesday in the Northwest League’s All-Star Game victory over the Pioneer League.
The three-hit effort earned Turner the game’s Top Star Award. Turner has been mashing all year for Short-Season Spokane with a .340 average and 19 RBI over 106 at-bats. The 22-year-old leads the Northwest League in batting average and also ranks fifth in OPS (.867), seventh in on base percentage (.405) and eighth in slugging (.462). Turner joined the Rangers’ organization last summer as a 19th-round pick out of Vanderbilt.
