Rockies signed RHP Xzavion Curry to a minor league contract.
Curry latches on with Colorado as emergency organizational pitching depth at Triple-A Albuquerque. The 27-year-old was cut loose by the Marlins back in early June after struggling to an 8.04 ERA across 15 2/3 innings (15 appearances) for Triple-A Jacksonville. He made three relief appearances for Miami back in early April.

    Marlins released RHP Xzavion Curry.
Curry made three relief appearances for the Marlins back in early April before being jettisoned from the club’s 40-man roster. The 26-year-old righty will head out to test the free agent waters after posting an inflated 8.04 ERA across 15 2/3 innings (15 appearances) for Triple-A Jacksonville.

Marlins sent RHP Xzavion Curry outright to Triple-A Jacksonville.
Curry passed through waivers unclaimed after being designated for assignment last week. The 26-year-old righty has made three relief appearances this season for Miami and figures to stick around as extra organizational depth.

Marlins designated RHP Xzavion Curry for assignment.
Curry gets the boot from the roster after Edward Cabrera (blister) came off the injured list, and they used the 40-man roster to select the contract of Rob Brantly. Curry will hit the waiver wire, and could be of interest for pitching-needy organizations.

Marlins selected the contract of RHP Xzavion Curry from Triple-A Jacksonville.
Curry didn’t make the team out of spring training and wasn’t even on the 40-man roster, but that only lasted a few days into the regular season. With Valente Bellozo being optioned to the minors, Curry is likely to have a spot in Miami’s rotation, though he doesn’t offer much fantasy value. Brett de Geus was designated for assignment to make room for Curry on the 40-man roster.

Xzavion Curry hurled four scoreless innings in his Grapefruit League start against the Astros on Saturday.
Curry, 26, allowed three hits with one walk and one strikeout. Far from a dominant outing, but an effective one, regardless. Curry has a good chance to open the season in the Marlins’ rotation because of their plethora of pitching injuries, but there’s very little fantasy upside in his right arm, respectfully.
  • MIA Starting Pitcher #27
Edward Cabrera left Thursday’s spring training start after developing a blister.
The right-hander threw 10 of his first 12 pitches for balls before leaving in the first inning. Even if Cabrera were to heal quickly from his blister, the Marlins could still decide to start him on the IL so that he can take his time building up his pitch count. He could then also get a few starts against minor league hitters after a poor spring training. That could open up a spot in the rotation for Adam Mazur or Xzavion Curry.

Marlins reassigned RHP Xzavion Curry to minor league camp.
Curry is being stretched out as a starter this spring and will continue that process back at Triple-A Jacksonville to open the year. The 26-year-old righty fired three hitless innings on Sunday in Grapefruit League action and figures to get an opportunity with the Marlins at some point in the near future.

Xzavion Curry kept the Astros hitless for three innings in his start Sunday.
Curry was dropped from the Marlins’ 40-man roster last month, but he’s in the running for a spot on the Opening Day roster, probably in middle relief. The former Guardian has yet to allow a run in six innings.

Marlins sent RHP Xzavion Curry outright to Triple-A Jacksonville.
The 26-year-old hurler will remain in Marlins’ big league camp as a non-roster invitee. Curry was terrific in nine appearances for the Marlins to end the 2024 season, posting a 3.00 ERA, 0.61 WHIP and a 13/2 K/BB ratio across 18 innings of work. He would seemingly have a decent shot at cracking the club’s Opening Day roster in a swingman role.
