Chance Hymas won his first moto of 2026 in Moto 2, but he lost the overall victory to Julien Beaumer, who earned his first career moto in the first race of the 250 Spring Creek National in Millville, Minnesota.
Beaumer had an up and down second moto after winning the first race. He was among the leaders early, completing the first lap in third. In the middle stage of the race, he began to fade before moving up to to fourth on Lap 11.
Beaumer crashed with three to go in over Moto 2 but had a big enough advantage to maintain his position.
Hymas had to come through the field after completing the first lap outside the top five. He cracked the top five on Lap 3, passed Beaumer for second on Lap 6 and took the lead from Kayden Minear on Lap 6.
Hymas struggled in the first moto, but with finishes of 9-1, he was scored second overall.
Levi Kitchen got a slow start. He was in ninth on Lap 1 and had to come through the field, which has become standard practice for the rider from Washington. He took fourth on Lap 4, moved into a podium position on Lap 6 and into second later on that same lap.
Finishing 8-2, he was scored third overall.
Kayden Minear earned the holeshot and showed a lot promise early. He lost pace during the race and finished sixth. Coupled with his third-place finish in Moto 1, he was scored fourth overall.
Carson Mumford engaged in a heavy battle with Beaumer and scored a moto podium, finishing third. He struggled in the first race to finish 11th, but was fifth overall with the solid Moto 2 result.
Cole Davies crashed multiple time in the second moto and was happy to see the checkers while he was in 13th.
Lux Turner rounded out the top five in Moto 2.
Things were worse for Michael Mosiman, who started the race in second after runner-up finish in Moto 1. He crashed while attempting to pass Minear early in the race and failed to finish.
