NEW BERLIN, New York: Levi Kitchen (2:15.262) posted the fastest lap in the combined qualification sessions of the Unadilla National by a seven-tenths margin over the field.
Kitchen enters Unadilla with a seven-point advantage over Cole Davies in second and with three rounds remaining, he hopes to expand that margin.
Davies was fifth on the overall chart with a time of 2:16.442, but as he looked to improve his speed in the second session, he cross-rutted late and crashed hard. Davies took a few moments to rise, removed his goggles, and tossed into the crowd.
Carson Mumford (2:15.995), who has improved remarkably in recent rounds, posted the second fastest time overall. Mumford scored top-five finishes in his last two starts at Spring Creek and Washougal.
Drew Adams (2:16.360) landed third on the chart. He scored a season-best finish of sixth two rounds ago at Spring Creek.
Julien Beaumer ( 2:16.361) is also in the hunt for the 250 championship, although he desperately needs to win in the closing races. He posted the fourth fastest time.
