Trevor Bayne on Roush Fenway struggles: ‘I can promise you we’re not going to lay down’
During Wednesday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup open test at Richmond International Raceway, Trevor Bayne was asked about the ongoing struggles at Roush Fenway Racing.
Team veteran Greg Biffle is ranked 19th, Bayne is 25th and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. is 27th.
Still, it’s clear from his answers that neither Bayne nor anyone else at RFR is giving up.
“You can go two ways when you get beat down,” Bayne said. “You can turn against each other, put your head in the ground and not get up. But I think we’re all motivated to give it everything we’ve got.
“We know this is what counts. I can promise you we’re not going to lay down. I’m not going to, nobody on the 6 team is going to, and I don’t think anybody at Roush Fenway is.
“We’re all pushing real hard to get the most out of our race cars. I think we’re learning every week. It’s just a slow process and hopefully everything will be faster.”
