Center Darryl Watkins, who was signed to a 10-day contract earlier in the day, had two points, 13 rebounds and two blocks off the Hornets bench on Wednesday.
He played 27 minutes, while Carl Landry added 16 points and just one rebound in 21 minutes. Watkins could get some run the rest of the way with Chris Kaman and Emeka Okafor done for the year, so keep a close eye on him.
  • Darryl Watkins scored a season-high 13 points with 10 rebounds, one block, and a season-high three steals in 42 minutes off the bench on Thursday.
Watkins got to put some footage on tape and that’s about it in his stint with the Hornets. Greivis Vasquez was moved to a bench role to allow Jerome Dyson to start, and he put up eight points on 3-of-14 shooting with two threes, two steals, and six assists, and Carl Landry scored eight points with three boards in seven minutes.
  • Darryl Watkins followed up his 13-rebound night on Wednesday with just five minutes of action on Thursday against the Rockets.
Watkins had two points and no other stats, and needless to say he has no fantasy value.
  • Hornets sign C Darryl Watkins to a 10-day contract.
Watkins has appeared in only nine games since being drafted by the Kings in 2008, and he’s not a player fantasy owners need to monitor.
  • Darryl Watkins has signed with the Bulgarian team Lukoil Academic.
Watkins finished the 2011-12 season with the Hornets, but after being traded to the Sixers in the offseason, Philly promptly waived him and he’ll head to Europe to continue his career.
  • MIA Small Forward #8
The Warriors have officially traded Dorell Wright and Darryl Watkins to the 76ers, while getting back Jarrett Jack from the Hornets.
Wright comes with a reasonable $4.1 million expiring contract, and should infuse more scoring and versatility into the Sixers oft-stagnant offense. The Sixers already have Andre Iguodala and rookie Moe Harkless at SF, but Wright’s penchant for 3-pointers makes him an intriguing late-round fantasy pick.
  • Darryl Watkins was traded from the Hornets to the 76ers as part of Wednesday’s deal involving Dorell Wright and Jarrett Jack.
The Hornets also acquire the draft rights to F Edin Bavcic, but this was strictly a salary-cap-clearing move for New Orleans. Watkins won’t play much, if at all, for the Sixers.
  • The 76ers have waived center Darryl Watkins.
Watkins was thrown in as part of the deal sending Dorell Wright to Philly, and it’s not surprising to see him immediately cut loose. He’ll have an uphill battle to earn a meaningful role in the NBA next season.
  • CLE Shooting Guard #30
Kings signed Dahntay Jones on Monday and waived C Darryl Watkins, who saw minimal playing time in nine games this season.
Jones averaged 7.5 points last season with Memphis. Watkins was averaging just 1.7 PPG in nine contests with the Kings this season. With Kevin Martin out for at least another month, the Kings needed some depth at the shooting guard
  • The Kings waived rookie center Darryl Watkins on Monday, signing veteran swingman Dahntay Jones.
Jones has no value with the Kings, but his signing is worth noting.
