Julian Champagnie accumulated 25 points (6-of-15 FGs, 10-of-10 FTs), 10 rebounds, two assists, one steal, two blocks and three three-pointers in Friday’s win over the Nuggets.
Having started the last five games due to injuries, Champagnie has recorded double-doubles in three straight. The 25 points he tallied on Friday were a season-high, and Julian has three 20-point games. Rostered in 10 percent of Yahoo! leagues, Champagnie has provided sixth-round value in nine-cat formats over the past two weeks. As long as Stephon Castle and Victor Wembanyama remain out, he’s worth streaming in deep leagues.

Julian Champagnie tallied 10 points (3-of-14 FGs, 2-of-3 FTs), 12 rebounds, one assist, one steal and two three-pointers in Sunday’s loss to the Suns.
A fixture in the Spurs’ starting lineup since Stephon Castle was lost to a hip injury, Champagnie struggled with his shot on Sunday. He was 2-of-9 from beyond the arc, dropping to 9-of-24 over the last three games. The good news for the few managers streaming Champagnie is that he recorded his first double-double of the season, leading all players with 12 rebounds. Those looking for someone capable of compensating for Castle’s absence are better off with Keldon Johnson, even with his issues in category league formats. He finished Sunday’s defeat with 14 points, six rebounds, two assists, one steal and two three-pointers in 24 minutes.

Julian Champagnie amassed 20 points (7-of-13 FGs, 1-of-1 FTs), four rebounds, five assists, one block and five three-pointers in Thursday’s win over the Hawks.
Limited to nine points in Tuesday’s win over the Grizzlies, Champagnie was much better in his second start for the injured Stephon Castle. He notched his second 20-point game of the season, finishing two shy of his season-high. While Champagnie has only been a 10th-round player over the past two weeks, he boasts a higher ceiling now that he’s in the starting lineup. He’s worth considering in deep leagues, especially for managers needing three-pointers.
  • SAS Forward #30
De’Aaron Fox, Devin Vassell, Julian Champagnie, Harrison Barnes and Luke Kornet will start against the Grizzlies on Tuesday.
With Stephon Castle (hip) set to miss a couple weeks, Champagnie will slide into the starting lineup. Kornet will also remain in the starting unit in place of Victor Wembanyama (calf), with the rest of the starters remaining the same.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reports that Stephon Castle (hip) will be re-evaluated in one to two weeks.
Castle, who was injured during the first half of Sunday’s win over the Kings, has been diagnosed with a left hip flexor strain. He’ll be re-evaluated in one to two weeks, leaving the Spurs down two starters as Victor Wembanyama (calf) is also out. Julian Champagnie started the second half on Sunday and is the player most likely to move into the starting lineup. Also, if Dylan Harper can return from his injury ahead of Castle, there may be opportunities for the rookie to provide value following a ramp-up period.

Stephon Castle (hip) is out for Tuesday’s game against the Grizzlies.
Castle exited Sunday’s win over the Kings due to left hip flexor soreness, and that issue will keep him out of Tuesday’s game as well. Julian Champagnie replaced the reigning Rookie of the Year in the lineup on Sunday, and he’s worth a look in deep leagues due to the Spurs also being without Victor Wembanyama. The absences should also raise Devin Vassell’s ceiling as he looks to rebound from a slow start to the season.
  • SAS Guard #5
Stephon Castle (hip) will not return to Sunday’s game against the Kings.
Castle suffered a hip injury during the first half of Sunday’s game and was not on the court to begin the third quarter. The Spurs have since announced that he will not return. Julian Champagnie started the second half and could hold onto that spot if Castle misses time. This would also mean that De’Aaron Fox will spend more time on the ball as the primary playmaker.

Julian Champagnie provided a boost off the bench with 14 points (4-of-9 FGs), two rebounds and four three-pointers against the Warriors on Friday.
Champagnie was a solid source of offense off the bench in the loss. He was third in scoring for the Spurs behind Victor Wembanyama and De’Aaron Fox, with most of his points coming from behind the three-point line. Champagnie was a starter to open the year, but in his four games as a reserve, his production has been top inconsistent for him to be worth rostering at this point of the season.
  • SAS Forward #30
Julian Champagnie (hip) is available for Friday’s game against the Warriors.
Champagnie was initially questionable with a hip injury, but will suit up for this one. The 24-year-old power forward is averaging 9.2 points and 5.1 rebounds this season. Champagnie doesn’t have much fantasy value when the Spurs are at full strength.
  • SAS Guard-Forward #24
Devin Vassell (migraine) is not on the injury report for Wednesday’s game against the Warriors.
Vassell exited Monday’s win over the Spurs with 6:37 remaining in the third quarter and did not return. The good news is that he is not on the injury report for Wednesday’s game, so Vassell will occupy his usual place in the starting lineup. If there are any issues, Julian Champagnie and Keldon Johnson will figure more prominently in the Spurs’ rotation.
