Luke Kornet (ankle) is out for Friday’s game against the Cavaliers.
Kornet is set to miss Friday’s game against the Cavaliers with a sore left ankle. Kelly Olynyk should move into the starting lineup with Victor Wembanyama also sidelined while Jeremy Sochan also picks up additional minutes. Olynyk is worth streaming.

Luke Kornet (ankle) is questionable for Friday’s game against the Cavaliers.
Kornet, who has been starting for the injured Victor Wembanyama, is dealing with a sore left ankle. If he’s unable to play on Friday, Kelly Olynyk would benefit the most in terms of playing time. While Jeremy Sochan may also pick up a few more minutes, Olynyk is the player to target as he would likely move into the starting lineup.

Luke Kornet tallied five points (2-of-3 FGs, 1-of-2 FTs), seven rebounds, four assists and three blocks in Wednesday’s win over the Magic.
Since moving into the Spurs’ starting lineup on November 16 to fill the void left by Victor Wembanyama, Kornet has provided ninth-round value in eight-cat formats. The issue has been the lack of scoring, with the 7-foot-1 center averaging 6.6 points per game. However, Kornet has been a good player to roster for those needing rebounds and blocks. He was productive in those categories in Orlando, with his third block coming as time expired to preserve the victory. Kornet remains a specialist, but the opportunity to start makes him a player worth holding onto in deep leagues.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reports Victor Wembanyama (calf) will be out for the next few weeks.
Wembanyama is dealing with a left calf strain, according to Charania, and will miss the next few weeks. This is a major blow to the Spurs and fantasy teams with the 21-year-old big man. Luke Kornet figures to benefit the most from Wembanyama’s absence as he’ll move into the starting lineup. Durability figured to be a challenge given the Spurs’ center’s size. A shoulder injury limited Wembanyama to 46 games last year and now he’ll miss multiple weeks with a calf injury.

Luke Kornet accumulated 13 points (5-of-5 FGs, 3-of-4 FTs), 11 rebounds, one assist and three blocks over 27 minutes during Sunday’s win over the Kings.
Kornet drew the starting assignment at center with Victor Wembanyama sidelined due to left calf tightness and wound up delivering his second double-double of the season while logging his most minutes since October 24. The 30-year-old big man carries legitimate streaming appeal in fantasy formats whenever Wembanyama sits, as he’s capable of chipping in on the glass and offers surprising offensive touch as a rim-runner and interior finisher.

Victor Wembanyama (calf) is out for Sunday’s game against the Kings.
Wemby was ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Kings with a calf injury. With the 21-year-old power forward sidelined, Luke Kornet is set to start and is worth streaming. Kelly Olynyk and Bismack Biyombo will also see some minutes off the bench.

Victor Wembanyama (calf) is questionable to play against the Kings on Sunday.
Wemby pops up on the injury report for the first time this season. If he is unavailable against Sacramento, Luke Kornet, Kelly Olynyk and Bismack Biyombo would be the Spurs’ center options. Kornet would likely start and see most of the minutes down low.

Luke Kornet (ankle, shoulder) finished Monday’s win over the Bulls with 16 points (6-of-6 FGs, 4-of-6 FTs), seven rebounds, two assists and one blocked shot.
“French Vanilla,” the nickname given to the tandem of Kornet and Victor Wembanyama, is back. The former returned to the Spurs’ rotation after missing seven games with ankle and shoulder injuries, and he looked sharp. Kornet played 20 minutes off the bench and was the only Spurs reserve to finish with a positive plus/minus. What that stat never tells the whole story of a player’s impact, the Spurs are much better when Kornet is available. His return meant less playing time for Kelly Olynyk, who accounted for two assists in four minutes of action.

Luke Kornet (ankle, shoulder) is available for Monday’s game against the Bulls.
Kornet is making his return from left ankle and right shoulder sprains. He’s missed the last seven games with his various ailments. Kornet’s return could cut into Kelly Olynyk’s playing time, but neither of them have much fantasy value behind Victor Wembanyama.

Luke Kornet (ankle, shoulder) is questionable for Monday’s game against the Bulls.
Kornet is recovering from left ankle and right shoulder sprains, which have sidelined him for San Antonio’s last seven games. If he’s able to play on Monday, Kelly Olynyk’s playing time may take a hit. However, this won’t impact either center, as they don’t provide much value when Victor Wembanyama is available.
