Bogoljub Marković tallied 16 points (5-of-8 FGs, 1-of-2 FTs), eight rebounds, one assist, one block and four three-pointers in Monday’s loss to the Suns.

Limited to seven points in Sunday’s loss to the Spurs, Marković more than doubled that output on Monday. The rookie forward, who remained overseas last season after being selected with the 47th overall pick, shot 4-of-7 from beyond the arc against the Suns. Overall, Marković has looked more comfortable than fellow rookie Nate Ament (eight points, three rebounds, one assist, one block and two three-pointers vs. Phoenix), which can be owed to the former’s prior professional experience. The question when training camp opens in September is whether there will be room in the Bucks’ frontcourt rotation for both Marković and Ament.

Nate Ament tallied six points (3-of-7 FGs), three rebounds and two assists in Friday’s loss to the Heat.

The 13th overall pick in last month’s draft, Ament did not play in any of Milwaukee’s California Classic games as his contract was being finalized. Having last appeared in a competitive game during the Elite 8, he looked a bit rusty, shooting 0-of-3 from beyond the arc. While fellow lottery pick Brayden Burries was selected three spots higher, Ament’s path to rotation minutes may be clearer since Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis were traded to Miami. However, he has a lot of developing to do, making Ament a more valuable option for dynasty leagues than redraft leagues.

Bucks selected Nate Ament with the No. 13 pick in the NBA Draft.

With there being some comparisons between him and Kevin Durant during his prep career, it’s unsurprising that Ament spent his lone college season playing for Rick Barnes, who coached KD at Texas. There were bouts with inconsistency, the 6-foot-10, 211-pound freshman finished with averages of 16.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.3 three-pointers in 29.7 minutes, shooting 39.9 percent from the field, 33.3 percent from three and 79.0 percent from the foul line. Ament will have plenty of time to grow as the Bucks prepare to start what should be a lengthy rebuild. He boasts plenty of talent, but the lack of production at Tennessee means he’ll likely take some time to develop. He may not provide much for fantasy managers in year one, but he’s worth stashing in dynasty formats.
