Broncos C Luke Wattenberg (shoulder) is expected to be sidelined for three weeks, “through the first two rounds of the playoffs.”
Wattenberg grades well as both a pass protector and run blocker, earning a 70.9 PFF offense grade. With Wattenberg sidelined, the Broncos signed C Sam Mustipher off the Chargers’ practice squad. Broncos C Alex Forsyth will operate as the starter with Wattenberg sidelined. Mustipher is his backup.

Oregon redshirt junior C Alex Forsyth plans to return for a sixth season in 2022.
While the 2022 campaign is a long ways off, knowing that one of the best centers in the Pac-12 will be anchoring your offensive line is good news for the Ducks. Forsyth (6'3/305) finally moved into the starting lineup last season, and all he did was earn second team all-conference honors. The redshirt junior was named to the Pac-12’s preseason all-conference team on Tuesday. What could change Forsyth’s thinking with regard to 2022 are his NFL Draft prospects. “That’s something I’d have to take into consideration,” Forsyth told Duck Territory. “Right now, I’m just focused on having the best fall camp and then best season and then we’ll see what happens after that.”

Oregon HC Mario Cristobal said that redshirt freshman T Alex Forsyth is “very much in the mix to be a starter here on the offense line.”
Cristobal refers to the 6-foot-3, 282-pound Forsyth as a “five-position guy” along the line. Five positions though he may be able to play, the redshirt freshman figures to be doing most of his work at tackle in Eugene. He’s been listed as the backup right tackle behind George Moore this offseason, but his exact place and role on the depth chart won’t clarify until August camp.
