Patriots selected Michigan OT Andrew Stueber with the No. 245 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Stueber (6'7/338) started 22 games for the Wolverines, mostly at right tackle. He made first-team All-Big Ten in 2021, a key component in Michigan’s top rushing attack that landed them a spot in the College Football Playoff. He has all the size you could ask for, but he has just average arm length and a below-average wingspan (37th percentile). The way he uses his hands and arms though is fantastic, punching hard with well-timed and accurate strikes. He’s got the size to play tackle, but his lack of mobility and overall athleticism (5.09 relative athletic score) will probably shift him inside at the NFL level. That’s fine because he can leverage his power better there, and his weaknesses will get exploited less. His run-blocking is his strength, driving forward and dominating the trenches. His pass blocking isn’t shabby either, as long as there isn’t a ton of space to exploit his slow feet and go around him. He has the power to stymie bull rushers and the patience to fend off the trickier rushers as well. He may not be the most agile guy you’ve ever seen, but as a road-grader in a power run game, Stueber can do some real damage.

Michigan redshirt sophomore T Andrew Stueber (ACL) is expected to miss the fall campaign.
Stueber (6'7/334) tore his ACL in mid-August and will spend the fall working through his rehabilitation. With the redshirt sophomore sidelined, Jalen Mayfield (whom he had been competing with in camp) now draws the starting assignment at right tackle. Stueber initially signed with UM as a four-star recruit in the 2017 class. He saw the field in three games last season.

Michigan redshirt sophomore T Andrew Stueber has been ruled out indefinitely after suffering a knee injury, according to William Burchfield of 97.1 The Ticket.
Stueber (6'7/334) going down is a tough blow for Michigan to absorb, as he was competing with redshirt freshman Jalen Mayfield for the starting right tackle job. As a result Mayfield, who appeared in three games at left tackle last season before being redshirted, will be taking all of the first-team reps as Michigan prepares for its season opener August 31 against Middle Tennessee. Stueber played in all 13 games for the Wolverines last season, making two starts at right tackle.

Four-star 2017 T Andrew Stueber committed to Michigan.
Stueber opted for Michigan over the likes of Maryland, North Carolina, Penn State and Pitt. The Darien, Connecticut, native is a ginormous prospect at 6-foot-7, 290 pounds. He fails to rank on the ESPN 300, with the outlet’s scouting department noting that Stueber is a "[b]it of a big fish in a smaller pond at this stage and needs to continue to develop physically and be more consistent with technique.” They believe his development would benefit from a freshman redshirt in 2017.
