Armando Allen rushed 11 times for 40 yards in Chicago’s Week 16 loss to the Packers.
Making his NFL debut after being signed off the practice squad last Monday, Allen had an impressive night, pinballing off tacklers as he showed good burst up the middle. Like starter Kahlil Bell, Allen benefitted from some excellent blocking by the Bears’ offensive line, but certainly looked like a player who could challenge for a roster spot next summer.

Bears signed RB Armando Allen and DE Thaddeus Gibson from their practice squad.
Undrafted out of Notre Dame, Allen rushed for 28 yards on eight preseason carries with the Bucs. He’ll add depth behind Kahlil Bell and Marion Barber while Gibson pitches in on special teams.

    Bears released RB Armando Allen.
Lorenzo Booker will be the No. 3 back behind Matt Forte and Michael Bush.
  • CHI Running Back #25
Armando Allen and Lorenzo Booker are battling for the Bears’ No. 3 RB spot.
With Kahlil Bell now out of the mix, it’s a two-man race for the right to caddy behind Matt Forte and Michael Bush. Allen is five years younger but Booker brings 36 games of NFL experience.

Bears placed RB Lorenzo Booker on injured reserve and signed RB Armando Allen from their practice squad.
Booker missed practice all week after suffering a concussion in the preseason. Allen, in his second year out of Notre Dame, will be the No. 3 back behind Matt Forte and Michael Bush and contribute on special teams. OLB Patrick Trahan was also waived on Saturday.

Bears RB Armando Allen rushed five times for 59 yards and a touchdown in Chicago’s Week 5 blowout win over Jacksonville.
Allen was the garbage-time back this week, breaking off a 46-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter. Entrenched as the No. 3 behind Matt Forte and Michael Bush, Allen won’t be worth a fantasy pickup entering a Week 6 bye.

Bears re-signed exclusive rights free agent RB Armando Allen.
A former undrafted free agent, Allen will compete for a change-of-pace role behind Matt Forte and Michael Bush. He’ll collect $480,000 if he makes the 53-man roster.

Bears tendered exclusive rights free agent RB Armando Allen.
He’ll collect $480,000, if he makes the 53-man roster. A former undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame, Allen is a 24-year-old scatback and special teamer.

Bears waived RB Armando Allen, TE Fendi Onobun, CB Demontre Hurst, DT Christian Tupou, RB Harvey Unga, DL Aston Whiteside and DE Josh Williams.
Allen was angling for No. 3 duties, but a hamstring injury torpedoed his roster chances. Onobun stood out in the offseason program, but commenced to fade in pads. Unga was briefly on the roster last season, but didn’t appear in a game.

Bears reserve RB Armando Allen is week-to-week with a right hamstring injury.
We’re only posting because it severely damages Allen’s roster chances. The Bears have precious little depth behind Matt Forte and Michael Bush, but are expected to sign free agent Curtis Brinkley on Monday. Allen took the rock three times for 12 yards in Chicago’s preseason opener, but also lost a fumble.
