Dolphins signed WR Cedrick Wilson off the Saints practice squad.
Wilson is no target threat at this stage of his career, which is good news for Jaylen Waddle, Malik Washington, and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine. Those three appear to be a the top of the pecking order in a post-Tyreek Hill Dolphins offense. Westbrook-Ikhine played the majority of the outside snaps in Hill’s absence in Week 4.
  • NO Wide Receiver #11
Cedrick Wilson Jr. caught 3-of-5 targets for 22 yards in the Saints’ Week 18 loss to the Buccaneeres.
Wilson Jr. was brought in to be a role player in the Saints’ offense, and he was just that with just 20 catches and a single touchdown in his time as the fourth wideout for the majority of the year. Wilson showed flashes of being something more when he was with Dallas, but what you see is what you get, and what you get from Wilson Jr. is a player that doesn’t help fantasy teams.
  • NO Wide Receiver #11
Cedrick Wilson Jr. caught 3-of-4 targets for 17 yards in the Saints’ Week 17 loss to the Raiders.
Despite the paltry stat line, Wilson Jr. tied for the team lead among wide receivers in targets. With Marquez Valdes-Scantling leaving the game with an injury, Wilson Jr. could operate as the Saints’ WR2 next week against the Bucs. This has also become perhaps the worst offense in the NFL with Alvin Kamara out and Spencer Rattler under center, so we’d recommend staying away from Wilson Jr. in all fantasy leagues in Week 18.
  • NO Wide Receiver #11
Saints WR Cedrick Wilson (shoulder) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.
Wilson missed Week 10 with the shoulder injury. Marquez Valdes-Scantling led the Saints’ wideouts in routes and caught three passes for 109 yards and two scores. If you were looking for a reason to keep MVS out of your lineup this week, Wilson’s return potentially taking some routes off the table for Valdez-Scantling should suffice.
  • NO Wide Receiver #11
Saints declared WR Cedrick Wilson, CB Kool-Aid McKinstry, QB Spencer Rattler, RB Jamaal Williams, LB Jaylan Ford, C Lucas Patrick, and DT Khristian Boyd inactive for Week 10 against the Falcons.
Wilson had seen ten targets over the past two games as the Saints struggle with a spate of wideout injuries. With Wilson and Chris Olave (concussion) sidelined, Mason Tipton will likely function as the team’s No. 1 receiver. Look for a heavy workload for both Alvin Kamara and Taysom Hill in Week 10.
  • NO Wide Receiver #11
Cedrick Wilson (shoulder) will not play in Week 10 against the Falcons.
The down-horrific Saints are without four of their top five receivers for this game. Mason Tipton is the last man standing among that group. Tipton was targeted three times last week but failed to bring in a single one of them. The sickest of sickos can roll him out as a WR5 for fantasy purposes.
  • NO Wide Receiver #11
Saints WR Cedrick Wilson (hip) is questionable for Week 9 against the Panthers.
Wilson was forced to miss Week 8 with the hip injury. He missed Wednesday’s practice this week but was back on the field for a pair of limited sessions on Thursday and Friday. Even if he’s active, UDFA wideout Mason Tipton is in line to start opposite Chris Olave. Tipton has eight receptions over the past two weeks and is worth adding in extremely deep fantasy formats.
  • NO Wide Receiver #11
Saints WR Cedrick Wilson (hip) did not practice Wednesday.
With Rashid Shaheed done for the year and Bub Means nursing an ankle injury, the Saints are drastically thin at wide receiver. Mason Tipton will continue to serve as the team’s No. 2 wide receiver for Week 9 against the Panthers. With Derek Carr expected to return, Tipton should sneak into the WR5 ranks this week.
  • NO Wide Receiver #11
Saints agreed to terms with WR Cedrick Wilson, formerly of the Dolphins, on a two-year contract.
Something of a passion project overpay during Mike McDaniel’s first Dolphins offseason two years ago, ex-Cowboy Wilson ended up catching only 34 passes in two years as a Dolphin. He needed to take a pay cut to maintain his 2023 roster spot. A “little things” receiver, Wilson helps rebuild the Saints’ depth following the release of Michael Thomas.
  • MIA Wide Receiver #11
Cedrick Wilson caught 3-of-7 targets for 37 yards in the Dolphins’ Wild Card loss to the Chiefs.
Wilson’s seven targets were second only to Tyreek Hill in what was a down game for the Dolphins all night. Wilson’s 2023 comes to a close as the veteran receiver finishes the year with a line of 22-296-3 on 38 targets. Wilson will enter 2024 in the final year of a three-year, $22.05 million contract that he signed during the 2021 offseason. Once considered a player who could be on the fringe of a breakout campaign, Wilson won’t carry much fantasy value heading into next season. He’s also a potential cut candidate, as he would cost the Dolphins only $2.5 million in dead cap space.
