Chiefs placed G/T Chris Bober, FB Greg Hanoian, LB David Hicks, and WR Maurice Price on injured reserve, ending their seasons.
Hanoian was to be Kris Wilson’s backup. Bober was once a key sub but was scheduled to make $1.2 million this year. He could get a settlement.
  • Chiefs signed tackle Chris Bober, who had been with the Giants, to a five-year contract.
Bober started 11 games at center and five at right tackle last season. The Chiefs will have him replace John Tait at right tackle.
  • Chiefs released OL Chris Bober.
Bober, 31, spent all of 2007 on injured reserve.
  • Chiefs G Chris Bober will be starting as long as Brian Waters is out.
Due nearly $2 million-per-season until 2008, the former Giant makes a lot of money for a projected reserve. Bober has 35 career starts.
  • John Welbourn is expected to be Kansas City’s right guard this season.
Chris Bober, Rudy Niswanger, and Tre’ Stallings are other uninspiring candidates. Welbourn has the most experience and biggest price tag.
