Texans re-signed RG Ed Ingram to a three-year, $37.5M contract.
The Texans acquired Ingram from Minnesota for a sixth-round pick last offseason. Per Pro Football Focus, 2025 was the best year of his career. Ingram posted a career-high 73.8 overall grade, fueled by a massive improvement as a run-blocker. With multiple holes along their offensive line, Houston couldn’t afford to let Ingram hit the open market.

Texans G Ed Ingram (knee) practiced in full on Tuesday.
After missing each of the last two games with a knee injury, Ingram looks likely to go on Thursday night. Ingram has posted back-to-back full practices this week. Tytus Howard (ankle/knee) and Trent Brown (hand/knee) were both limited participants on Monday and Tuesday and also look to be trending towards playing.

Texans OL Ed Ingram (knee) is questionable for Houston’s Week 11 game against the Titans.
Ingram, one of Nick Caserio’s better OL scrapheap finds this year, missed last week’s game with the injury but had limited practices on Thursday and Friday after a full on Wednesday. Juice Scruggs wound up seeing most of the time at right guard after an ugly debut series from Sidy Sow. Tytus Howard (concussion) cleared protocol and will start.
  • HOU Tackle #71
Texans T Tytus Howard (concussion) will not play in Houston’s Week 10 game against the Jaguars.
Neither will Ed Ingram (knee), making way for Juice Scruggs and Blake Fisher to join the starting lineup. Davis Mills’ supporting cast isn’t going to be doing the quarterback any favors in Week 10.
  • HOU Tackle #71
Texans RT Tytus Howard (concussion protocol) left Houston’s Week 9 game against the Broncos and will not return.
He was concussed shortly before halftime and wasn’t in on Houston’s final two drives. Howard, Houston’s best remaining offensive lineman, leaves a big void for second-rounder Blake Fisher to fill. Ed Ingram (ankle) is also questionable to return, with Juice Scruggs stepping into his role at right guard.

Texans declared OL Ed Ingram (abdomen) inactive for Week 1.
Ingram popped up on the injury report on Thursday and was on a questionable tag. His absence will lead to an OL shuffle that would seem likely to put Tytus Howard at guard, Aireonate Ersery at right tackle, and Cam Robinson at left tackle. So, in other words, a normal Texans game. Also inactive for the Texans are: WR Christian Kirk (hamstring), WR Braxton Berrios (hamstring), DT Tommy Togiai, QB Graham Mertz (third QB) , and RB British Brooks.

Texans acquired OG Ed Ingram from the Vikings in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick.
Ingram was the Vikings’ second-round pick in 2022 and has started 41 of the 48 games he has played. Set to enter the final year of his deal and with the Vikings apparently not interested in extending him, Ingram will have the chance to earn a new contract with the Texans this upcoming season. Ingram has allowed 21 sacks and 124 pressures during his three seasons with the Vikings — the most of any guard in the league over that span — and was benched last season for his performance. Still, the Texans’ decision to acquire him is a low-risk move for the team to see if a change of scenery can lead to better production. It wouldn’t be at all surprising if Ingram were on the free-agent market next offseason.

Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell said “it’s been trending that way” when asked if second-round G Ed Ingram was starting at right guard.
Ingram sat out the preseason finale after posting an 87.3 PFF run block grade in his 64 snaps. Beating out free-agent signing Jesse Davis introduces some extra upside to Minnesota’s interior line, which could help Dalvin Cook and company in the run game.

Vikings selected LSU OL Ed Ingram with the No. 59 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Ingram (6’3/307) was a 35-game starter after signing with LSU as a four-star recruit. In 2021, he was named Second Team All-SEC. Ingram is built like a lunchbox, sawed-off and broad-shouldered. Equipped with the hand strength of a boxer and active feet, Ingram establishes a tone with his punch and looks to finish you off with footwork. He’s a fluid mover who consistently threatens second-level linebackers, athleticism he proved during the pre-draft process with a 74th-percentile relative athletic score. He is a heady player with a mean streak who didn’t take a penalty the past two seasons. Ingram’s punch power stuns defenders, but he can be beaten on recovery due to a propensity to prioritize initial pop over keeping a stable base. If he can clean that up, he should be a fit for any system. He reminds us of Jonah Jackson.

LSU redshirt sophomore G Ed Ingram (off-field) has been reinstated to the team.
Ingram (6'4/314) was indefinitely suspended last summer after two counts of sexual assault were levied against him, but those charges have now been dropped, paving his way to return to the team. The former four-star recruit started 12 games out of the gate as a true freshman in 2017 and makes for a tremendous midseason add. It might take him a little while to get back into the swing of things, but the timing is perfect, here, what with LSU about to set into their SEC schedule.
