Bengals agreed to terms with seventh-round WR Freddie Brown on a four-year, $1.788 million contract.
A tall possession receiver out of Utah, Brown will be lucky to make the practice squad for a club that goes seven deep at wideout.
  • MIN Wide Receiver
    Bengals released WR Freddie Brown.
He was the team’s seventh-round pick this season. We’re not sure why as the Bengals are very deep at wideout.
  • CIN Wide Receiver
Bengals signed WRs Maurice Purify and Freddie Brown, DT Clinton McDonald, CB Antonio Smith, and OG Jason Shirley to futures contracts.
Purify was ahead of Jerome Simpson on the camp depth chart, but Simpson made the roster instead because he was a 2008 second-round pick. Shirley is a former defensive tackle. Brown and McDonald were drafted in 2009.
  • MIN Wide Receiver
    Bengals waived WR Freddie Brown.
He goes to make room for T.O. after spending ’09 in the practice squad.
  • MIN Wide Receiver
    Vikings waived WR Freddie Brown.
Brown was signed in early April after the Bengals dumped him. The Vikings plan to add to the practice squad if he clears waivers.
  • MIN Wide Receiver
Vikings signed WR Freddie Brown, CBs Cord Parks and Simeon Castille, FB Ryan D’Imperio, OG Seth Olsen, and DT Tremaine Johnson to reserve/future contracts.
They were all 2010 Vikings practice squad members. Olsen was the highest draft pick -- a fourth-rounder in 2009 by the Broncos. Brown put up a ton of stats at Utah, but projects as no more than an offseason practice wideout.
  • MIN Wide Receiver
Vikings signed WR Freddie Brown, formerly of the Bengals.
Brown, a seventh-round pick in 2009, will provide an extra set of hands during camp with Sidney Rice and Percy Harvin sidelined.
  • MIN Wide Receiver
Vikings informed WR Freddie Brown of his impending release.
The former Utah star was signed to a reserve/future contract in January after spending the 2010 season on the practice squad. He’ll land in another camp, but will be a longshot to earn a roster spot.
