  • NYJ Wide Receiver #5
Garrett Wilson caught 4-of-6 targets for 57 yards in a win over the Titans, adding five yards on one rush.
It hasn’t been a great start to the season for Wilson and Aaron Rodgers, who have connected 10-of-17 times for just 117 total yards and no touchdowns. Given the lack of receiving depth behind him, Wilson is seeing plenty of coverage shifted his way from opposing defenses which has led Rodgers to take short passes to his running backs. Wilson is undeniably talented and is making plays when given the chance, but until Mike Williams gets healthy and can attract some defensive attention away from Wilson, we may not see that game-breaking week from the 24-year-old wide receiver.

Garrett Wilson caught 6-of-11 targets for 60 yards in the Jets’ Week 1 loss to the 49ers.
Wilson understandably drew alpha coverage by a stingy 49ers’ secondary, struggling to shake free in all areas of his route tree. Even so, the 10 targets on just 21 Aaron Rodgers pass attempts handily led the team on a night the team managed to hold the football for under 22 minutes. Wilson only saw one additional target from backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor on the team’s final possession of the game. Better fantasy performances are sure to lie ahead for one of the league’s most talented pass-catchers.

The Athletic’s Zack Rosenblatt reports the connection between Aaron Rodgers and Garrett Wilson has hit “a bit of a rough patch” in training camp.
The QB-WR tandem started camp on a tear, Rosenblatt said, but they have since struggled with communication issues that have led to poor offensive performances against the Jets defense in practice. Last Thursday, Rodgers completed 10 of 20 passes in 11-on-11 drills and 2 of 4 in seven-on-seven sessions, according to Rosenblatt. Head coach Robert Saleh said he’s not worried about the recent struggles. “There’s plenty of time to evaluate the one on one aspect,” Saleh said. “There’s a lot of install going on. There’s still a lot of (overthinking) going on with regard to the playbook.” Wilson and Rodgers have been seen arguing on the sideline at training camp. Rodgers has dismissed the heated exchanges as something that either did not happen or was misinterpreted by people recording the arguments on their phones. In any case, Wilson is set to be the team’s clear-cut No. 1 pass catching option in 2024.

The Jets will play the 49ers in Week 1 on Monday Night Football.
It will be the Jets’ second straight Monday night season opener. Last year’s Week 1 was a waking nightmare for New York as Aaron Rodgers ruptured his Achilles four snaps into the game and missed the rest of the season despite constant talk of an early return from injury. Rodgers and the Jets will take on a stingy Niners defense graded by PFF as 2023’s third best pass rushing unit and second best coverage unit. It will be a tough test for Rodgers, 40, and the Jets offense to start 2024. The game will be something of a homecoming for Jets head coach Robert Saleh, who served as the 49ers defensive coordinator for four years.

Garrett Wilson caught 2-of-5 targets for 34 yards in the Jets’ Week 18 win over the Patriots.
It was a disappointing individual effort on a snowy afternoon in Foxborough, but Wilson entered the week only needing to avoid losing yardage to finish as the first Jets wideout with at least 1,000 yards receiving in each of his first two seasons. It’s a testament to an elite young player considering his quarterback play somehow downgraded on 2022’s already-awful performance. Capable both of compiling underneath and ripping big plays deep, Wilson continues to look like everything a team would want in a young receiver. Now he just has to hope 40-year-old Aaron Rodgers’ lower body holds up next season.
  • NYJ Wide Receiver #17
Garrett Wilson caught 5-of-10 targets for 50 yards in the Jets’ Week 17 loss to the Browns.
Wilson led the team in targets. As usual, he appeared frustrated by a lack of quality targets, this time from Trevor Siemian, who spent most of the night checking down to Breece Hall and the team’s tight ends. On the plus side: Wilson now has 25 targets in Siemian’s two starts for New York. It could be worse. Wilson gets the New England defense in Week 18.
  • NYJ Wide Receiver #17
Garrett Wilson caught 9-of-15 targets for 76 yards in the Jets’ Week 16 win over the Commanders.
Wilson’s ability with the ball in his hands after the catch came up big today as he broke tackles and shook defenders all game. He didn’t get many opportunities downfield, but was effective in moving the chains. It was a nice game for Wilson against weak Commanders’ defense, but next week against the Browns should be a little tougher.

Garrett Wilson caught 3-of-4 targets for 29 yards in the Jets’ Week 15 loss to the Dolphins.
It was a stink bomb performance for the entire Jets offense both before and after Zach Wilson suffered a concussion in the dying moments of the first half. Garrett had yet to even be targeted before Zach departed. A bitter disappointment after Zach helped revive his No. 1 wideout in his Week 14 return. Now the quarterback is highly questionable for Week 16 against the Commanders, making Garrett a shaky WR2 option in an admittedly amazing matchup.

Garrett Wilson caught 9-of-14 targets for 108 yards in the Jets’ Week 14 win over the Texans, adding a three-yard carry.
Fantasy managers got what they hoped for in Zach Wilson’s return under center, with the embattled starter locking onto his No. 1 wideout and producing just his second 100-yard outing of the season. One of Wilson’s missed connections was an overthrown end zone look. That was frustrating, but we know Zach will never stop targeting Garrett. They do have an unappealing Week 15 matchup with Jalen Ramsey’s Dolphins.
  • NYJ Wide Receiver #17
Garrett Wilson caught 3-of-7 targets for 50 yards in the Jets’ Week 13 loss to the Falcons.
Tim Boyle had Wilson open on deep and intermediate throws on a number of plays where he didn’t even pull the trigger. When he did, the throw was rarely on target. Boyle’s play was so bad that it eventually got him benched for Trevor Siemian, though it was too little too late for Wilson. With the Jets’ offense reaching a new low every week, it will be hard to trust Wilson as a fantasy option going forward. He will rank as a low-end WR3 for the Jets’ Week 14 game against the Texans.
