The Athletic’s Tashan Reed believes Jamal Adams may challenge for a starting spot at linebacker for the Raiders.
The Raiders signed Adams on the condition that he’d move to linebacker. Adams relayed that conversation with Pete Carroll to the media on Saturday like so: “He told me, ‘You’re going to be in the linebacker room so get over it ... I said, ‘Alright, s—, let’s do it.’” Okay then! Adams has played just 15 games since 2022 and will try to unseat Germaine Pratt for a spot at Will linebacker.
  • LV Safety #25
    Raiders signed S Jamal Adams.
Adams played in five games last year between the Lions and Titans, and hasn’t played more than 10 games in a season since 2021. This should probably best be regarded as a depth signing unless we see the former All-Pro safety start making headlines in training camp.
  • FA Safety #25
Lions released S Jamal Adams from their practice squad.
Adams signed with the Lions’ practice squad after being released by Tennessee earlier this season. He was called up for two games a few weeks ago and logged three total tackles on 20 defensive snaps. Adams could sign with another team as a depth option, though he appears to be running out of options at the age of 29.
  • DET Safety #33
Lions signed S Jamal Adams to their practice squad.
Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the expectation is that Adams will be elevated to the Lions’ roster. Adams signed with the Titans in the offseason but was limited by a hip issue during his short-lived stint in Tennessee. He only took the field for 20 snaps across three games with the Titans. Adams will be a depth option for an elite Lions secondary.
  • FA Safety #33
    Titans released S Jamal Adams.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Adams “is healthy and looking forward to his next opportunity.” The veteran safety did not play in Week 6 due to a reported hip injury, and has appeared in just two games this season. Adams has a lengthy injury history and has played on just 17 defensive snaps this season. Until he can stay on the field and show some durability, it’s hard to view Adams as anything more than added depth wherever he lands next.
  • TEN Safety #33
Titans S Jamal Adams (hip) will not play in Week 6 against the Colts.
Adams has struggled with a slew of injuries for years, last playing a full season in 2018. He has only appeared in 12 games since the start of the 2022 season. Adams has four tackles across three games this year, only one of which was a start.
  • TEN Safety #33
Titans S Jamal Adams (hip) did not practice Wednesday.
Adams missed Week 1 with a hip injury but returned to action for the following three games. He seemingly re-aggravated the issue in Week 4 after one defensive snap. Adams will likely miss a few weeks to ensure the issue doesn’t crop up for a third time.
  • TEN Linebacker #42
Titans declared LB James Williams, DB Julius Wood, OLB Caleb Murphy, OL John Ojukwu, TE David Martin-Robinson, and TE Thomas Odukoya inactive for Week 2 against the Jets
The big name is the one that isn’t listed here since Jamal Adams will be active and making his Titans debut. That’s good news against Aaron Rogers and Garrett Wilson.
  • TEN Safety #33
Titans S Jamal Adams (hip) was removed from the injury report and will play in Week 2 against the Jets.
Adams logged three full practices before being cleared from the injury report. It’s a revenge game for Adams as he squares off against the organization that took him sixth overall all the way back in 2017. Adams will start off in a rotational role for his first game as a Titan.
  • TEN Safety #33
Titans S Jamal Adams (hip) returned to practice on Wednesday.
Adams missed Week 1 after being held out of all three practice sessions last week. He was a full participant in today’s practice suggesting he is good to go for Week 2. Adams has struggled through various injuries in recent seasons, so the Titans will likely ease him into the lineup early in the year.
