NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Rams LG Jonah Jackson (shoulder) is likely headed to injured reserve.
Jackson dealt with a shoulder injury during training camp and reaggravated it in the Rams’ Week 2 loss to the Cardinals. He started Week 1 at center but was moved to left guard mid-game after Steve Avila went down with an injury of his own. That’s now three LA offensive linemen who have landed on injured reserve in the first two weeks of the season. Down 60 percent of their starting line and both of their superstar receivers, things are already looking bleak for the Rams.
  • LAR Guard #72
Rams LG Jonah Jackson will miss an “extended period of time” after aggravating his shoulder injury in Sunday’s loss to the Cardinals.
It sounds like Jackson is going to end up on injured reserve, which would sideline him until at least Week 8. The Rams’ left guard missed most of training camp with a shoulder issue. It’s a brutal, brutal blow for an already decimated and under-performing Rams offensive line. It’s frankly looking like a lost season in Los Angeles.
  • LAR Guard #72
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Rams LG Jonah Jackson suffered a bruised scapula and is expected to miss the preseason.
Per Schefter, Jackson “has a chance to return for the start of the regular season.” He was spotted at practice with a sling around his left arm on Wednesday. The Rams signed Jackson to a three-year, $51 million contract in the offseason. Though this isn’t a disastrous outcome, it’s not the news Sean McVay wants as he looks to center his offense around an elite passing attack headlined by one of the league’s best duos in Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp. As long as Jackson is back early in the season, this injury shouldn’t slow down the Rams’ offense too much.

NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reports the Rams and Jonah Jackson have agreed to a three-year, $51 million contract.
Jackson was expected to fetch a big number on the open market, and will get $34 million in guaranteed money on this new deal. He will likely play opposite guard Kevin Dotson, who recently re-signed with the team for three years and $48 million. Jackson was limited by ankle and knee injuries last season, appearing in only 12 games, but when healthy, Jackson is among the top guards in the league. Jackson allowed two sacks on 24 pressures last season and was named to the Pro Bowl in 2021.
  • DET Guard #73
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports Lions OG Jonah Jackson “underwent surgery for a slight meniscus tear” and will miss Sunday’s NFC Championship Game against the 49ers.
According to Fowler, Jackson could return for the Super Bowl if the Lions were to advance through next week’s contest, but they will be without him for this weekend’s contest. Jackson started 12 games for the Lions this season and had previously missed time with ankle/wrist injuries. Listed behind Jackson on the Lions’ depth chart is Kayode Awosika, who played on 46 snaps after Jackson exited Sunday’s game against the Buccaneers.
  • DET Guard #73
Lions LG Jonah Jackson (knee) has been ruled out against the Bucs.
Jackson was dinged up in the first half and did not return to game action. He’s a big loss for the Detroit offensive line as they deal with a blitzing Tampa front seven. Lions C Frank Ragnow also sustained a leg injury but has remained in the game.
  • DET Guard #73
Lions LG Jonah Jackson (ankle/wrist) is questionable for Week 13 against the Saints.
Jackson has missed consecutive games with the pair of injuries but returned to practice on Wednesday. He has a shot at suiting up this week, though he has already re-aggravated the ankle issue once this year, so the Lions could take a cautious approach with his second return. Jackson will go through pre-game warmups before a final call is made on his Week 13 status.

Lions LG Jonah Jackson (ankle/wrist) returned to practice Wednesday.
Jackson didn’t practice at all last week before being ruled out on Friday, so a limited session is a step in the right direction. He dealt with the ankle issue earlier in the season and then added the wrist injury to his practice report ahead of Week 11. The Lions’ offensive line has been one of their biggest strengths this year. Getting Jackson back would be a notable win for their rushing attack.
  • DET Guard #73
Lions delcared G Jonah Jackson, OLB Julian Okwara, DT Isaiah Buggs, DT Brodric Martin, WR Antoine Green, CB Steven Gilmore, and LB Trevor Nowaske inactive for Week 12 against the Packers.
Jackson, who has worked as the team’s starting left guard, is dealing with a wrist injury that could cost him multiple games. That could make things a little dicey for Jared Goff and the Lions offense, which has a great matchup on paper against Green Bay’s run-funnel defense.
  • DET Guard #73
Lions OG Jonah Jackson (wrist) has been ruled out for Thursday’s game against the Packers.
Jackson missed games earlier in the year with an ankle injury and then picked up a wrist injury prior to Week 11. That means the Lions will be without their starting left guard against the Packers on Thanksgiving day. While it may not appear to be a big loss on the surface, it will make things a little bit harder for Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery on a short week.
