Eagles hired former Buccaneers OC Josh Grizzard as pass game coordinator.
The Eagles passed on Grizzard for their offensive-coordinator vacancy when they decided to hire Sean Mannion, but apparently liked enough of what they heard to pair him with Mannion this upcoming season. Grizzard served as the Buccaneers’ pass game coordinator during the 2024 season, when they finished sixth in yards per attempt and ranked in the top three in both passing yards (4,257) and passing touchdowns (41). He and Mannion take over an Eagles offense that finished 13th in yards per attempt last season, but ranked just 26th in total pass attempts. Hopefully, these moves lead to more pass attempts and a more aggressive down field attack for Jalen Hurts and company in 2026.

Eagles interviewed former Buccaneers OC Josh Grizzard for their offensive coordinator vacancy.
Grizzard met with the Eagles in-person on Wednesday, having advanced to the second round of interviews for their offensive coordinator vacancy. NFL insider Jordan Schultz reports that Grizzard is “viewed as a legitimate candidate for the job.” He was fired by the Buccaneers earlier this month.

NFL insider Jordan Schultz reports former Buccaneers OC Josh Grizzard will interview with the Eagles for their offensive-coordinator vacancy on Monday.
Grizzard was one-and-done with the Buccaneers after being elevated to offensive coordinator for the 2025 season. Grizzard took over an offense that ranked among the top passing units in 2024, only to see it finish 22nd in yards per attempt and 20th in total passing yards this season. The Eagles are fresh off firing a one-and-done offensive coordinator of their own in Kevin Patullo, so a move to a coach on a similar trajectory could prove risky for head coach Nick Sirianni next season. That said, the Eagles are clearly exhausting all options in hopes of finding an adequate replacement for former OC Kellen Moore.

    Buccaneers fired OC Josh Grizzard.
While Bucaneers head coach Todd Bowles told reporters Wednesday that he’ll remain in charge in 2026, someone was needed in the wreckage after Tampa Bay went 2-8 in its last 10 games and missed the playoffs. Grizzard is out after one season as the Buccaneers offensive coordinator, a running theme under Bowles, who’ll have his fifth OC in five years in ’26. Grizzard attempted to run back Liam Coen’s offensive from 2024, when the Bucs were fourth in the league in scoring, but his Bucs managed just 22.4 points per game (18th in the league). Baker Mayfield will be on his eighth different offensive coordinator in the last nine seasons in ’26.

Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles said he will remain the team’s head coach for 2026.
Per the Tampa Bay Times’ Rick Stroud, Bowles “met with the Glazer family, which owns the team, Tuesday.” He met with his coaching staff on Wednesday and informed the Tampa Bay Times that “there will be some changes to his coaching staff.” The Glazer family reportedly took the offensive line’s myriad injuries into account before they made their decision. While no information was shared about the potential coaching staff changes, Stroud did note that “the offense did not produce under first-year coordinator Josh Grizzard.” Stay tuned.

Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles said OC Josh Grizzard is only “tweaking” the team’s offensive system from 2024 and credits Grizzard with last year’s successes on third down.
Bowles told the NFL Insiders that Grizzard designed the Buccaneers’ third-down plays, which yielded an NFL-best 50.7 percent conversion rate. The Buccaneers’ offense should once again function as a fantasy-friendly unit in 2025.

ESPN’s Jenna Laine writes that Bucs OC Josh Grizzard “won’t try to reinvent the wheel.”
Taking over from Liam Coen after spending the year designing Tampa’s third-down looks, Grizzard said “continuity will remain essentially the same.” The team will use the same verbiage, formations, and motions as it did last year. Mike Evans told reporters “it’s going to be similar to what we’ve run.” An unchanged offense in Tampa Bay would be good news for Baker Mayfield, Bucky Irving, Evans and company. There will undoubtedly be new challenges for Grizzard, but we should be expecting a similar shape of production from a fantasy perspective.

Buccaneers promoted pass game coordinator Josh Grizzard to offensive coordinator.
The move allows the Buccaneers to preserve schematic continuity, with Grizzard having spent 2024 helping former OC Liam Coen orchestrate the team’s highly successful passing offense. The 34-year-old Grizzard is rapidly ascending through the NFL’s coaching ranks and could be up for head coach consideration within two or three seasons.

Buccaneers interviewed pass game coordinator Josh Grizzard for their offensive coordinator vacancy.
Grizzard entered the NFL coaching ranks as an offensive quality control coach with the Dolphins in 2017. He switched to the overall quality control coach for the 2019 season before handling wide receiver coach duties in 2020-2021. He then returned to the offensive quality control coach role when Mike McDaniel was hired as head coach in 2022. The Buccaneers later brought him over to fill the pass game coordinator role in 2024. The Buccaneers’ passing offense was highly successful this season and the team no doubt values the potential schematic continuity Grizzard offers following Liam Coen’s departure.
