Raiders signed WR Phillip Dorsett to a reserve/future contract.
We don’t know how much future there is to reserve for the 33-year-old (happy birthday!), but the Raiders are here for it. The Raiders also signed RB Chris Collier, G McClendon Curtis, LB Jamin Davis, DT Treven Ma’ae, T Joshua Miles, TE Albert Okwuegbunam (remember him?), WR Brenden Rice, G Layden Robinson, WR Justin Shorter, OL Laki Tasi, and T Dalton Wagner to reserve/future deals.
  • FA Running Back #30
    Bears released RB Royce Freeman.
Freeman had only joined the Bears last week — the veteran will probably find a practice squad by the time the week is over. The Bears also waived DB Millard Bradford, DL Xavier Carlton, DB Alex Cook, LB Power Echols, DB Kaleb Hayes, QB Austin Reed, RB Ian Wheeler, and TE Joel Wilson. Additionally they released DB Tre Flowers and OL Joshua Miles, and placed DB Zah Frazier on the NFI list.
  • FA Tackle #77
Cardinals selected Morgan State T/G Joshua Miles with the No. 248 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Miles (6’5/314) was a three-year starter on the Morgan State Bears’ front five, earning third-team All-MEAC as a fifth-year senior by yielding just one sack all season at left tackle. Miles’ college tape isn’t especially dominant, but he has NFL-caliber traits with freakish 35 5/8-inch arms and 73rd-percentile athleticism. Miles is a developmental project with an outside chance to develop into a mauling starter at right tackle or guard.

Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller compared Morgan State T Joshua Miles to Cincinnati Bengals T Kent Perkins.
“Small-school standout who shows up as a good athlete on tape and in workouts with natural lateral agility but poor strength and not much developed technique,” Miller writes of the 6-foot-5, 314-pound Miles. He is going to require a fair amount of coaching next level and should be viewed as a project selection for whoever either lands him late in the draft or scoops him up in undrafted free agency.
  • FA Tackle #77
The Athletic’s Dane Brugler ranked Morgan State OT Joshua Miles No. 12 among “small school” prospects.
Miles (6'5/314) missed the 2017 season due to academics but played extremely well in 2018 and tested off the charts. He posted the best vertical jump among offensive lineman since 2003 with a 36-inch leap. Brugler notes that Miles has an “intriguing mix of size, feet, and length (35 5/8 inch arms)” and projects as either a tackle or guard. Miles is a developmental Day 3 prospect at this point.
  • FA Tackle #77
Morgan State T Joshua Miles posted the best vertical jump among offensive linemen since 2003.
Miles jumped out of the gym, finishing just shy of the best vertical of any lineman in Pro Football Reference’s database. That’s an impressive enough score to garner some more buzz going into the last third of the NFL Draft season, especially since he has an impressive 84 and 7/8-inch wingspan. Unless opinions change, Miles is considered a developmental prospect.

Morgan State T Joshua Miles measured in at 6-foot-5, 314-pounds on Wednesday at the NFL Scouting Combine.
Miles measurements in height and weight are similar to the 6-foot-6, 310-pounds he was listed at while at Morgan State. The pleasant surprise here -- if surprise is the right word -- is that Miles had an impressive 84 and 7/8-inch wingspan, and his arms were measured at 35 and 5/8-inches. That’s among the best in both categories, which is certainly a positive. Miles is viewed as a developmental prospect at this point, so a strong showing in Indianapolis will go a long way.
  • FA Tackle #77
Morgan State senior T Joshua Miles accepted an invitation to play in the East-West Shrine Game.
Miles (6'6/310) is the starting left tackle for the Bears. Scouting reports cite his long arms and athleticism, and he obviously impressed enough against lower competition to earn a trip to the game. He’s a developmental prospect, but one who could seriously improve his draft stock with a strong showing in St. Petersberg.
