NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports the Bears have hired Big Ten commissioner Kevin Warren as their president and CEO.
Warren will take over for Ted Phillips, who has been with the team since 1984 and spent the last 23 years in his current position. Prior to being named Big Ten commissioner in 2020, Warren held front office positions with the Rams (1997-2000), the Lions (2001-2003), and the Vikings (2005-2019), last serving as the Vikings’ Chief operating officer. He has also been rumored as a future successor to Roger Goodell, making his return to the NFL all the more interesting.
