Buccaneers DL Vita Vea (MCL) did not practice Wednesday.
Vea was reportedly scheduled to undergo an MRI on Monday to determine the injury’s severity. No new information has been released beyond confirming the knee injury is an MCL sprain. Vea could miss time. Buccaneers DT Calijah Kancey (calf) and backup DL William Gholston (knee) likewise did not practice Wednesday, though EDGE Logan Hall (foot) was limited.
  • Buccaneers DT Calijah Kancey (calf) did not practice on Wednesday.
Kancey was inactive for Week 1, sidelined by his third recorded calf injury since 2023. S Antoine Winfield Jr. (undisclosed) and DB Josh Hayes (ankle) were also sidelined on Wednesday after CB Bryce Hall was sent to injured reserve on Tuesday. EDGE Logan Hall (foot) and CB Zyon McCollum (concussion) both practiced in a limited capacity, however.

Buccaneers signed second-round EDGE Logan Hall to a four-year contract.
Hall’s signing comes just hours before rookies are expected to report for Bucs training camp. The 33rd overall pick of this year’s draft, Hall has reportedly been bulking up to serves as a 3-4 DE in Tampa Bay’s scheme this season. An enormous presence along the defense line, Hall totaled 48 tackles, 13.5 TFLs and 6.5 sacks in his final season at Houston, on his way to first-team All-ACC honors. He’ll likely be thrust into the starting lineup as early as Week 1.

The Athletic’s Greg Auman reports Bucs second-round rookie EDGE Logan Hall has added weight in order to play in Tampa Bay’s scheme.
As reported by Auman, Hall played around 270 pounds during his final season at Houston, but has bulked up to 290 pounds in preparation for life as a 3-4 defensive end. Despite the added weight, Hall said he is “still moving really well” and feels good. Veteran DL Ndamukong Suh, who spent the last three seasons with the Buccaneers, appeared on over 200 snaps at DE per PFF. Currently a free agent, Hall’s ability to transition to this new scheme may spell Suh’s permanent exit from the Buccaneers.

Bucs selected Houston EDGE Logan Hall with the No. 33 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Hall was announced as a defensive end. Hall (6'6"/283) showed up at Houston as a raw edge defender weighing 235 pounds. He transformed himself into a 6-foot-6, 283-pound tweener who can set the edge with authority or slide inside to wreak havoc in the backfield. Though his production prior to 2021 was lacking, it came together for him last year with 48 tackles, 13.5 TFL, 6.5 sacks, and an 85.0 PFF pass-rush grade. The first-team All-ACC selection recorded 83 percent of his snaps at three-tech over the last two seasons, and when asked at the Combine where he prefers to play, he indicated three-tech is where he’s most comfortable. When profiled as a defensive tackle, Hall posted enticing 90th percentile testing marks with a 4.88 40 and an elite total Relative Athletic Score of 9.40. He does a good job staying low and powering through first contact while also showing the ability to slide off blocks and get skinny in gaps against the run. Hall displays a deft jab step and likes to use a swat/arm over technique to knock opposing linemen off balance. He has the versatility to be a stout edge setter or whatever else the Bucs need along their defensive line.

Houston DT Logan Hall is the odds on favorite (-200) to be selected with the 33rd overall pick at the beginning of Day 2.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers acquired the 33rd overall pick from the Jacksonville Jaguars in the first round of the draft. With a spot along their defensive line vacated by free agent DT Ndamukong Suh, Hall (6'6/275) makes some sense for the Buccaneers. Hall was viewed by many as a potential first rounder. Has fall to the second round will turn into a steal for one lucky team.

NFL.com’s Tom Pelissero reports “no name comes up more often from GMs as a potential Round 1 surprise” than Houston DT Logan Hall.
Hall (6'6/275) has received tremendous buzz throughout the pre-draft process. His size coupled with a 4.88 40-time and 7.25 three-cone make him one of the more athletic DTs in a class loaded with athleticism. Last season with the Cougars, Hall totaled 47 tackles, 13 tackles for a loss and six sacks while receiving a pass rush grade of 84.9 from PFF. He ended his time at Houston with a sack in three straight games, and generated a career-high 30 pressures on the season.

Houston DL Logan Hall met with the Giants on Wednesday.
One of the needs for the Giants heading into the draft is at the defensive line so they’ve been meeting with some of the top prospects at that position throughout the predraft process. Hall (6'6/275) possesses some great explosiveness and he moves well for someone of his size and is great at stopping the run. The Giants have both the No. 5 and 7 picks, depending on what they do with those picks they might be looking to fill the DL need on Day 2 where Hall is currently being projected. Looking at him on tape shows, that he could make an impact early in his career.

  • TB Defensive End #90
According to PFF’s Austin Gayle, Houston DL Logan Hall had the third-best pass rush win rate inside the tackles in 2021.
To show better context, Gayle did mention that RPOs, screens, and play-action were removed. Without these three play types, the sample will generate a more concentrated data set. Hall (6'6/275) ended up finishing third in the nation at 23 percent in garnering pressure inside the tackles. This isn’t a surprise, as Hall possesses a unique element of explosiveness, length, use of leverage, and power. A potential late first-round selection, Hall has the versatility to play inside as a 3T and flex out and be an edge.

  • TB Defensive End #90
Houston DL Logan Hall received an invitation to the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine.
Hall (6'6/275) started the year logging just 18 snaps against Texas Tech in a reserve role, but the Cougar defensive lineman quickly became an every week starter who generated 29 pressures in 473 snaps while earning pass rush grades of 90.2 and 85.1 over the past two seasons. Hall possesses the length required to play edge, but spent most of his time at three-tech lining up in the B-Gap as an interior pass rushing menace who also tackled well in run support, missing just two tackle opportunities all season long. He shined in Mobile at the Senior Bowl and likely raised his draft projection to a likely Day 2 selection. Hall will be joined by fellow UH invitees, cornerbacks Marcus Jones and Damarion Williams.
