Browns activated LB Mohamoud Diabate, DT Mike Hall Jr. and DT Maurice Hurst II.
Cleveland made a slew of roster moves. The Browns also placed T James Hudson III (shoulder) on IR, released WR James Proche II, and elevated S Chris Edmonds and WR Jaelon Darden from the practice squad for Week 6’s matchup with the Eagles.

Browns signed Utah LB Mohamoud Diabate.
Diabate (6’3/229) was a four-star recruit at Florida. He worked his way into a full-time role as a starter after three years but transferred to Utah for his senior season. Diabate led the Utes and ranked second in the Pac-12 in TFLs (13.5) while also finding five sacks. Diabate tracks running backs well and has a knack for getting to opposing quarterbacks as a blitzer. On the other hand, he is a liability in coverage and misses far too many tackles. Diabate will likely cap out as a part-time player if he finds a consistent roster spot in the pros.

Florida junior LB Mohamoud Diabate has entered the transfer portal.
Diabate (6'3/227) was a four-star prospect from the 2019 recruiting class and opted to go to Florida despite being an Auburn, Alabama native who also had offers from both Auburn and Alabama. Defensively, Diabate has been a solid two-year starter for the Gators, and racked up 82 tackles this season including 11 tackles for a loss in 2021. In 2020, Diabate registered 55 tackles to go with 13 quarterback pressures, two sacks and one interception while scoring two defensive touchdowns. He should have a solid market in the transfer portal, but leaves new head coach Billy Napier with a hole to fill at the middle linebacker position heading into 2022, after starting the last 10 games of the season for the Gators.

Florida received a verbal commitment from 2019 four-star DE Mohamoud Diabate.
The Alabama native nearly stayed in state and was heavily considering Auburn and Alabama, but “always knew” that Florida was his No. 1 option. Diabate really likes Florida’s 3-4 scheme and believes he will be a good fit. He’s a great catch for the Gators as the 10th ranked player in the state and 15th nationally at his position.
