The Saints were able to outbid seven other teams by handing out the three-year deal. The bowling-ball runner will compete for a roster spot and could emerge as a short-yardage and goal-line option down the line.

Hill was injury-prone and lacked pass catching skills at Wisconsin, but he has potential as a short-yardage back if he can make the roster. Wisconsin RB P.J. Hill is expected to settle his DUI case with a plea bargain next month.

Hill will reportedly have his license temporarily revoked, but it sounds like the more serious DUI charge will be dismissed. According to the Wisconsin State Journal, Hill is also facing a separate DUI charge in Arizona. We’d be surprised if he gets drafted at all considering the latter news.
