49ers selected Texas Tech EDGE Romello Height with the No. 70 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
One of the older prospects in the 2025 draft pool, (4/13/2001) the well traveled Height (6’3/240) played for three different schools (Auburn, USC, Georgia Tech) before (6’3/240) delivering a breakout campaign in 2025. Across 598 snaps, he posted 48 tackles, 16 havoc plays, 12.5 TFL, 10 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles, acting as Tech’s second major heat source opposite All-American Edge David Bailey. His pass-rush metrics were standout: on 294 rushes, Height generated 53 pressures for an 18% pressure rate, with 9 sacks created, a 2.50 sec time-to-first-pressure, and a high-leverage 20.0% third-down pressure rate. PFF validated the impact, issuing an elite 92.6 overall grade bolstered by a blue-chip 92.5 pass-rush grade and 93.1 coverage grade, signaling a modern outside linebacker who can both pressure and disrupt offensive game plans.
  • Former Auburn sophomore LB Romello Height has committed to USC.
Height (6'3/214) was a member of the 2020 recruiting class and was the no. 26 ranked linebacker from his class according to 247Sports’ composite rankings. Despite receiving playing time as a true freshman, Height did little in his time with the Tigers. According to Pro Football Focus, Height totaled 18 tackles, 22 quarterback pressures and no sacks on 252 defense snaps, with 238 of those snaps coming in 2021. To his credit, Heigh did show a knack for getting after opposing quarterbacks in 2021, as he averaged one quarterback pressure per every 11.9 snaps on the season. Perhaps with some additional playing time in 2022, we could see Height get after opposing quarterbacks and convert on a few sacks.

  • Auburn signed three-star 2020 LB Romello Height, flipping him from Miami.
Height (6'4/210) had been pledged to Miami since the beginning of July, but were unable to hold him in their 2020 stable through the start of the early signing period. The Dublin, Georgia, native has a frame which should be able to hold a fair amount of additional healthy playing weight. On the 247Sports composite board, Height slots in as the No. 39 prospect in the state of Georgia for the 2020 cycle.

  • Miami received a verbal commitment from three-star 2020 OLB Romello Height.
Height (6'4/210) picked Miami over Kentucky and other Power 5 schools, and he’ll look to compete for a rotational piece as a freshman in 2020. Height will be tasked with adding some more mass and strength, but he has plenty of time to reach his physical potential. The 247Sports Composite Board ranks Height as the No. 447 overall recruit in the class.
  • Uncommitted three-star 2020 LB Romello Height is taking official visits to Kentucky and Miami this week.
Height (6'4/210) is squeezing in an official visit to the Wildcats beginning on Tuesday and will then trek out to Coral Gables for a Miami OV on Friday. He has previously visited Kentucky in unofficial capacity on two occasions, but this will be his first trip to Miami. At this juncture, Florida, Georgia Tech and Kentucky are all in strong positions with the three-star linebacker. Auburn and Tennessee -- both of whom could draw unofficial visits later this month -- are two other programs to keep an eye on in this race. Rivals ranks Height as the No. 49 outside linebacker prospect for the 2020 cycle.
  • Uncommitted three-star 2020 LB Romello Height said that Virginia, Florida, Missouri, Kentucky and Arizona State are has top five programs at this juncture.
Nice little attempt by the Sun Devils to reach into SEC territory, here. Height (6'4/210) hails from Dublin, Georgia. The three-star linebackers is currently aiming to commit to a program at some point during the summer. Potential forthcoming offers from the likes of Georgia Tech and Nebraska -- both schools of interest -- could complicate his recruitment. Rivals ranks Height as the No. 70 prospect in the state of Georgia for the 2020 cycle.
