Steelers OG Isaac Seumalo (pectoral) was ruled out for Week 1.

Seumalo suffered a pectoral injury last Wednesday and may experience a multi-week absence to begin the year. Second-year backup Spencer Anderson will start in his stead. RT Troy Fautanu (knee) was promisingly listed as a limited participant on Wednesday.

Steelers OG Isaac Seumalo suffered a pectoral injury during Wednesday’s practice.

The good news is that it’s been determined that Seumalo did not suffer a season-ending injury according to Adah Schefter of ESPN. The bad news is that it does appear to be an injury that is going to cause the 6-foot-4, 303-pound offensive lineman to miss some time, and the team is still determining just how long that will be. If Seumalo isn’t available for the opener — and that appears likely at this time — Spencer Anderson would likely open the year as their starting left guard.

Steelers selected Maryland OL Spencer Anderson with the No. 251 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Pittsburgh add depth to their offensive line with a player in Anderson who would play guard or tackle. He’ll compete to make a roster spot as a seventh-round pick.
