Heiden

Heiden has just one season of offensive line coach experience under his belt, having coached the position for the Cardinals in 2018. He coached tight ends with the Cardinals (2019-2022) and Lions (2023-2024) after that. Heiden follows new Jets head coach Aaron Glenn from Detroit to the Big Apple. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero notes Lions pass game coordinator “Tanner Engstrand [is] the favorite to come aboard as” the Jets’ new offensive coordinator.

Heiden starts in Cleveland’s two-tight end sets. With Keith Heinrich also injured, the Browns need someone to relieve Kellen Winslow of blocking duties.

He’ll make up for the loss of Kellen Winslow, but isn’t a fantasy threat.

This is two weeks longer than original estimates. Darnell Sanders is next on the depth chart and will line up with Kellen Winslow.

Heiden, primarily a blocker, is Cleveland’s No. 2 tight end.

Heiden caught a 62-yard TD in the fourth quarter to seal the Browns victory over Green Bay. The tight end is quietly on pace for a 1,000-yard season. Don’t expect that to keep up much longer.

Now that Aaron Shea is healthy, Heiden has less Fantasy value. The Browns do use a lot of two-tight end sets though. Cleveland will play the Lions next Sunday.

Heiden has 23 receptions this season. He’s not reliable enough to be considered a starting tight end option though. Cleveland plays the Titans next week.
