That Papa Garrett’s can’t-miss project in Dallas took so long just to catch on with a practice squad doesn’t bode well. Lowber is an athlete, but has little football experience and is highly unlikely to help Miami before 2009.

Dolphins signed FB Lex Hilliard, OLB Tearrius George, DL Joe Cohen, WR Todd Lowber, WR Anthony Armstrong, DB Scorpio Babers, CB Will Billingsley, and FB Chris Brown to reserve/future contracts.

Most of these players spent 2008 on the practice squad. Hilliard, last year’s sixth-round pick, offers little speed and probably doesn’t have a future in the NFL. Lowber isn’t the answer for Miami’s problems at wideout.
