  • GB Tight End #88
The Athletic’s Matt Schneidman believes Packers TE Luke Musgrave “should get a chance right away to be the No. 1 tight end.”
The enormous Musgrave, taken with the 42nd pick in the 2023 draft out of Oregon State, caught 11 passes for 169 yards in two games last season before suffering a season-ending knee injury. With a relative athletic score of 9.71, Musgrave, 22, profiles as Green Bay’s top pass-catching tight end alongside blocking specialist and hybrid fullback Josiah Deguara. If Musgrave gets a solid number of pass routes, he could be a sneaky late-round tight end option in a Packers offense without Robert Tonyan, who signed with the Bears this offseason.

  • GB Tight End #84
    Packers re-signed TE Tyler Davis.
Davis generated some noise last offseason, with GM Brian Gutekunst going as far as to say, “I think we might have something there,” when talking about the former sixth-round pick. With veteran tight end Marcedes Lewis all but gone this offseason, Davis will have a chance to earn a spot on the 53-man roster this offseason. Through 39 career games, Davis has caught eight passes for 61 scoreless yards.

  • GB Tight End #84
The Athletic’s Matt Schneidman reports TE Tyler Davis is “the name that popped up more than any other” when discussing “under-the-radar players” on the Packers’ roster this offseason.
Davis is a 25-year-old converted quarterback who was briefly forced into action by injury last year and caught four passes across 14 games. “I think we might have something there,” GM Brian Gutekunst said of Davis this spring. Coach Matt LaFleur thought Davis did a “hell of a job” getting up to speed on the offense in 2021, though LaFleur singled out Davis’ special teams play for praise. Names like Davis are worth filing away in a targets-needy offense that is going to produce some unheralded heroes this season, but he still seems like an extreme long shot to actually make a pass-catching impact.

Jaguars signed sixth-round TE Tyler Davis to a four-year contract.
Davis (6'4/243) was listed as The Athletic’s Dane Brugler’s TE44 in the 2020 draft class. He was well off the radar, but Davis will compete for a roster spot and special teams role this summer given his draft capital. As a senior at Georgia Tech, Davis compiled 17 receptions for 148 yards and one touchdown.

  • GB Tight End #84
Georgia Tech redshirt senior TE Tyler Davis is in line to start this fall.
Davis (6'4/243) chose the perfect transfer destination when he bounced from UConn for Georgia Tech in January. Moving on from former HC Paul Johnson’s triple-option, the Yellow Jackets tight ends position room did not just need to be filled out this offseason. It had to be built from scratch. They did not have a tight end on roster entering the Geoff Collins Era. Davis posted a 22-237-6 line with the Huskies last season. Beyond the redshirt senior, Tyler Cooksey (a former linebacker), Josh Tukes (a former defensive end), Joseph Macrina (a former B-back) and Dylan Deveney (a true freshman) are candidates to see rotational work at tight end. As you can gather from that assortment, Collins is trying to build up the position from a number of different approaches.
  • GB Tight End #84
Redshirt junior TE Tyler Davis transferred from UConn to Georgia Tech as a graduate.
Davis (6'4/243) could be a big get for the Yellow Jackets. He made 22-catches for 237 yards, but he most notably had six touchdowns; tops among Huskies in 2018. Considering the Yellow Jackets are changing from a triple-option team to a “normalized” offense, these type of get scan really help the transition. He’ll be eligible to play immediately because he leaves with his degree.
  • GB Tight End #84
UConn redshirt junior TE Tyler Davis will transfer as a graduate.
Davis (6'4/243) is coming off a 2018 campaign in which he registered a 22-237-6 receiving line. The reception and yardage totals are not particularly noteworthy, but the redshirt junior did lead the Huskies in touchdown grabs. He will be eligible to play immediately in 2019 once he settles on his next collegiate stop.
