Tyler Huntley completed 16-of-20 passes for 107 yards and a touchdown in the Ravens’ 41-24, Week 17 win over the Ravens, adding eight rushes for 60 yards.
Huntley got the start with Lamar Jackson’s back contusion keeping him from playing, and his main goal was handing the football to Derrick Henry (36/216/4) and getting out of the way. Mission accomplished. He did do a nice job connecting on his short-yardage passes, and was rewarded with a touchdown pass to Zay Flowers late in the contest. Huntley will be tasked with being a game manager in Week 18 against the Steelers if Jackson can’t go, and there’s a smidgen of upside because of his ability to make some plays as as a runner.

Ravens QB Tyler Huntley will start in Week 17 against the Packers.
Huntley is a low-end QB2 with starting QB Lamar Jackson sidelined by a back contusion suffered against the Patriots last week. The Packers field a talented pass defense, albeit with an injury-weakened defensive line. Huntley lacks the upside requisite for starting consideration in single-quarterback re-draft leagues.
  • BAL Quarterback #8
Ravens declared QB Lamar Jackson, WR Tylan Wallace, OT Joseph Noteboom, DT Aeneas Peebles and CB Keyon Martin inactive for Week 17 against the Packers.
The back contusion Jackson suffered last week against the Patriots will keep him sidelined in Week 17. The Ravens (7-8) trail the Steelers (9-6) in the AFC North playoff hunt. Jackson’s absence is extremely unfortunate. Backup QB Tyler Huntley is barely on the QB2 radar. He does not need to be started in single-quarterback re-draft leagues.

Lamar Jackson (back) is listed as doubtful for Week 17 against the Packers.
Jackson was listed as a non-participant for Thursday’s practice before getting the doubtful designation. The 28-year-old almost assuredly will be out for Saturday’s game against the Packers, meaning Tyler Huntley will get the start in that contest. Whether Jackson plays in Week 18 against the Steelers will depend on how the signal-caller heels, and also if that game has any meaning.

Lamar Jackson (back) did not practice Wednesday.
Jackson has now missed the first two practices of the week because of the back contusion he suffered in Baltimore’s Week 16 loss to the Patriots. He is likely on the wrong side of questionable with one practice left to go. If he can’t suit up, Tyler Huntley will draw the start in a must-win game versus the Packers. Huntley would barely register as a fantasy QB2 for a road game versus a solid Green Bay defense.

Ravens QB Lamar Jackson (back) did not participate in Tuesday’s walkthrough practice.
The Ravens held a walkthrough on Tuesday, so the injury report is just an estimate. However, Jackson being listed as the only non-participant does not bode well for his status in Week 17. Head coach John Harbaugh said on Monday that Jackson is day-to-day with a back contusion that forced him out of Sunday’s game against the Patriots; fantasy managers should stay tuned for the practice reports later in the week to see if he can get a practice in. It is a shorter week than usual for the Ravens as they play on Saturday against the Packers. For now, Jackson is on the wrong side of questionable and Tyler Huntley may be starting in Week 17 for Baltimore.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Lamar Jackson is day-to-day with a back bruise.
The back injury Jackson suffered in the second quarter of Sunday’s loss to the Patriots ended up sidelining him for the remainder of the game, but it sounds like he’ll have a chance to return in Week 17 against the Packers. The Ravens are hanging onto their playoff hopes by a thread, needing to win out over the final two weeks of the season while also needing the Steelers to lose their final two games. Facing a true do-or-die scenario next week, the Ravens will hope Jackson can return under center come Saturday. If he’s unable to go, Tyler Huntley would draw the start in his absence.

Tyler Huntley completed 9-of-10 passes for 65 yards in the Ravens’ 28-24, Week 16 loss to the Patriots, adding two yards on two carries.
Huntley entered the game in the second quarter following a back injury to starter Lamar Jackson. He wasn’t asked to do much through the air as the defense allowed the Ravens to ride Derrick Henry in the second half, ultimately coming up short of the much needed win after the Patriots surged from 11 points down to snatch the victory away. The loss removes control from the team’s path to the postseason, now requiring a loss by the Steelers in Week 17, a win over the Packers, and to beat their divisional opponents in Week 18 to reach the playoffs. They could also be forced to do so without Jackson, pending follow-on testing to his injured back.

Ravens HC John Harbaugh said he is hopeful Lamar Jackson (hamstring) will play in Week 9 against the Dolphins.
In addition to being hopeful that Jackson will return in Week 9, Harbaugh also said he had no involvement in the team’s injury designations after Jackson was listed as a full participant in practice last Friday. Jackson did practice last week with the team, and was (we believe) correctly listed as limited on Wednesday and Thursday. Given the short turnaround before Week 9’s game, Jackson’s status on Monday’s report will be of the estimated variety, while Tuesday’s report will come after an actual practice. If Jackson is still unable to go, Tyler Huntley would draw the start after playing well in Week 8’s win over the Bears.

Tyler Huntley completed 17-of-22 passes for 186 yards and one touchdown in the Ravens’ 30-16, Week 8 win over the Bears, adding eight carries for 53 additional yards.
Making his first start for the Ravens since Week 18 of the 2023 season, Huntley stepped up big for the Ravens in a must-win game. The veteran signal-caller saw his offense go three-and-out on their first possession, but bounced back to lead a touchdown drive on their second possession, thanks in part to a 15-yard completion to Rashod Bateman on a long second down that helped make for a manageable third down conversion. Huntley completed three passes of 20-plus yards on the day, and connected with Charlie Kolar on a 10-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to push the Ravens’ lead to 23-13 with just over eight minutes left in regulation. He would lead one more touchdown drive in the fourth quarter to officially put the game out of reach, as the Ravens now move to 2-5 on the season with a short turnaround to prepare for Thursday night against the Dolphins. Lamar Jackson (hamstring) is expected to return in Week 9, but if he is unable to go, Huntley would again draw the start in his absence.
