For the fourth consecutive week the NHL announced zero positive COVID-19 tests results from its Toronto and Edmonton bubbles.

The league said there were 4,664 tests conducted between August 16 and August 22 in the two hub cities with zero positive tests among them.

It has now been more than a month since the NHL has reported a positive COVID-19 test, with the most recent coming during the week of July 13 when there were two positive results. Those results were during Phase 3 (full training camp) of the NHL’s Return To Play. That came after there were 43 positive results during the Phase 2 (small individual group workouts at team facilities) portion.

Phase 4 (the start of the Stanley Cup Playoffs) began with 24 teams reporting to Toronto and Edmonton in late July with daily testing taking place for all 52 members of each team’s traveling party.

The NHL is currently in the Second Round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs with eight teams (four in each city) remaining.

At the conclusion of this round the NHL will leave the Toronto bubble and play the Conference Finals and Stanley Cup Final in Edmonton.
