Olympic champion Adelina Sotnikova‘s Grand Prix season debut will be pushed back after she withdrew from next week’s Rostelecom Cup on Friday.

Sotnikova, who hasn’t competed in top-level international competition since winning Sochi gold, struggled with an ankle injury recently, according to Neveitalia.

She was replaced in the Rostelecom Cup field by another Russian, Maria Stavitskaya. Sotnikova is still in the field for NHK Trophy in Japan on Thanksgiving weekend.

In Sochi, Sotnikova became the first woman to win Olympic figure skating gold with zero prior World Championships medals, giving her more to prove in her follow-up season than perhaps any champion before her.

She was ninth at the 2013 World Championships.

Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated Sotnikova hasn’t competed since the Olympics. She skated in a lower-level event earlier this season.
