Artur Dmitriev, Olympic pairs’ figure skating champion, dies at 58

Artur Dmitriev, who won Olympic pairs’ figure skating gold medals with different partners in 1992 and 1998, died at age 58, according to the Russian Figure Skating Federation.

Dmitriev won Olympic titles with Natalya Mishkutenok (1992, plus a silver in 1994) and, after Mishkutenok retired, Oksana Kazakova in 1998.

He is the only man to win Olympic pairs’ gold with two different partners.

Dmitriev later worked as a coach in the U.S. Son Artur Jr. briefly competed as an American, placing 11th at the 2022 U.S. Championships.

“Father you will always stay in my heart,” was posted on Dmitriev Jr.'s social media.
