U.S. Olympic champions Aaron Peirsol and Dara Torres and coach Bob Bowman are among the International Swimming Hall of Fame Class of 2016.

The group also includes 2012 Olympic 400m freestyle champion Camille Muffat of France, who died in a helicopter accident March 9, and Olympic diving champions Dmitry Sautin of Russia and Guo Jingjing of China.

The backstroker Peirsol won seven Olympic medals, including five golds, sweeping the 100m and 200m backstrokes at the Athens 2004 Olympics and capturing the 100m back at Beijing 2008. He finished his competitive swimming career in 2010 at age 27.

Torres shared the record for U.S. Olympic medals won by a woman with 12, competing over five Games from 1984 to 2008, with two retirements scattered in. She stepped away for good at age 45 after missing the 2012 Olympic team at the U.S. trials.

Bowman coached Michael Phelps to a record 22 Olympic medals, including 18 golds, and has also coached Olympic and World champions Katie Hoff, Allison Schmitt and Yannick Agnel.

Here’s information on the full class from the Hall of Fame.
