2026 Bank of America Chicago Marathon: How to watch, start times, live runner tracking, fields

The 2026 Bank of America Chicago Marathon streams live on NBC5 Chicago and the NBC Chicago channel on Peacock on Sunday at 8 a.m. ET.

The Chicago Marathon is one of eight annual World Marathon Majors — the highest level of marathon running — and one of three annual majors held in the U.S. along with the Boston Marathon in April and the New York City Marathon in November.

In each of the last four years, Chicago’s pancake-flat course produced either a world record or an American record.

In 2025, Conner Mantz broke a 23-year-old American men’s record.

The 2026 men’s elite field is headlined by defending champion Jacob Kiplimo of Uganda, who is the third-fastest marathoner in history with a personal best of 2:00:28 from the 2026 London Marathon on April 26.

Top Americans include Charles Hicks, who on April 20 in Boston ran the second-fastest marathon by an American citizen in history: 2:04:35. Hicks, a former Stanford All-American, was born in London and lived in England until age 12. He became eligible to represent the U.S. in July.

Also signed up are Olympians Clayton Young and 40-year-old Galen Rupp, the last American runner to win Chicago in 2017.

The women’s field is led by defending champion Hawi Feysa of Ethiopia, plus Kenyan Brigid Kosgei, who broke the world record in Chicago in 2019.

American women entered include 2024 Olympian Dakotah Popehn and, in her marathon debut, Emma Grace Hurley, who was fifth in the half marathon at the World Road Running Championships on Sept. 20.
