On The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Ibtihaj Muhammad discussed how she picked up fencing and even showed off the skills that helped her qualify for the U.S. Olympic team.

Muhammad, set to become the first American to compete in a hijab at the Olympics, is ranked No. 7 in the world in women’s sabre.

She and two-time Olympic champion Mariel Zagunis have already qualified for Team USA for Rio.

They’ll compete individually in Rio and be joined by two more U.S. women’s sabre fencers for the team event.
