NC State received a verbal commitment from four-star 2019 DE Savion Jackson.
Jackson (6'3/245) is the No. 3 overall recruit in North Carolina and No. 12 strongside defensive end in the country. He recorded 20 tackles for loss and eight sacks in 14 games as a junior last season. In addition to NC State, his final list consisted of South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia Tech and Clemson.

Uncommitted four-star 2019 DE Savion Jackson is planning on taking official visits to South Carolina, NC State and North Carolina.
Jackson (6'3/245) is considering programs as far outside his home of Clayton, North Carolina, as Ohio State, Tennessee and Alabama, but with the way his recruitment is currently tracking, he might not be straying too far from home when all is said and done. Rivals analyst Adam Friedman goes so far as to write that at this juncture, “it’s hard to see Jackson ending up anywhere other than N.C. State.” Friedman’s outlet ranks Jackson as the No. 120 overall prospect in the 2019 class.

Uncommitted four-star 2019 DE Savion Jackson plans to make his pledge on Wednesday, June 13.
Jackson (6'3/245) has winnowed the field to five. Four of his five finalists -- Clemson, North Carolina, NC State and Virginia Tech -- reside in the ACC. The lone outlier in the mix, here, would be South Carolina. Rivals analyst Adam Friedman passed along near the end of May that NC State’s looking to have a decided edge in this race. Over at ESPN, the defensive end lands at No. 31 on their 300-player master list. He’s consistently shown out well against the run during high school career and plays with a high-revving motor at all times.

ESPN’s Craig Haubert compares four-star NC State 2019 DE commit Savion Jackson to former Florida DL Jonathan Bullard.
Bullard developed into not only a very productive defender but also a valuable one, because of his versatility along the Gators’ defensive line,” writes Haubert. “Jackson possesses similar traits with his combination of initial quickness and power with good size at the moment and the frame to continue to fill out, much like Bullard did in Gainesville.” Haubert also notes it’s a huge get for NC State, with Jackson ranking sixth among defensive ends in ESPN’s 2019 rankings.
