According to the Nashville Tennessean, Sen’Derrick Marks is in danger of losing his roster spot after the Titans spent a third-round pick on DT Mike Martin.
Martin is expected to make an immediate impact, and the Titans like veteran Shaun Smith as a rotational piece against the run. A second-round pick in 2009, Marks is set to make $615,000 in the final year of his rookie deal. He’ll have to beat out Smith, versatile DE/DT Malcolm Sheppard, and perhaps even undrafted free agent DaJohn Harris to make the Opening Day roster.

Titans DT SenDerrick Marks (knee) is expected to play in Sunday’s game against the Lions.
Marks is the Titans’ best run-stuffing lineman. Without him, they’re giving up 155.0 yards per game on the ground through two weeks. Marks’ return is bad news for Kevin Smith and the Lions’ running game.

Titans DT Sen’Derrick Marks (knee) is not expected to play in Week 1.
He’s listed as doubtful on the injury report. Marks was expected to be a starter this season, next to Jurrell Casey. Tennessee may now have to turn to undersized pass rusher Karl Klug. It’s a boost for Stevan Ridley’s matchup.

The Nashville Tennessean expects free agent DT SenDerrick Marks to draw “plenty of interest.”
Beat writer Jim Wyatt hints the Titans are open to re-signing Marks, but only at a team-friendly price. The Titans will meet with Marks’ agent (who also represents free agent OG Leroy Harris) at next week’s Combine. Still a week away from his 25th birthday, Marks tallied 41 tackles and 1.5 sacks last season, but struggled against the run.

The Titans have discussed a long-term deal with free agent DT SenDerrick Marks, but there’s “still work to be done.”
Beat writer Jim Wyatt previously reported the Titans want Marks back, but only at their price. The four-year veteran is expected to draw “plenty of interest” in free agency. Marks isn’t a viable candidate for the franchise tag.

The Nashville Tennessean reports “five teams” have shown interest in free agent DT Sen’Derrick Marks.
None of the teams that are interested are known, but Marks’ agent is doing a great job of drumming up interest. He’s been gaining plenty of perceived buzz for the past couple of weeks. The Titans want Marks back, but they’re not going to overpay with capable in-house replacements available.

The New York Daily News is “told” that one of the teams interested in free agent DT Sen’Derrick Marks is the Giants.
Marks, 26, is an undersized gap shooter at 6-foot-2, 294. The Giants are always looking to compile talented defensive linemen, and we don’t anticipate Marks’ price tag being especially high despite a healthy amount of free-agent buzz.

The Titans and free agent DT Sen’Derrick Marks are “still not close” to a long-term deal.
Marks’ play has been spotty throughout his career, but he just turned 26 and is coming off a career-high 41 tackles. The former second-round pick out of Auburn is expected to draw “plenty of interest” on the open market after generating “a lot of buzz” at the Combine.

Free agent DT Sen’Derrick Marks will test the open market.
Marks has been generating plenty of buzz since the Combine, and he’s expected to be highly sought after for some odd reason. He’s never lit up the stat sheet, he isn’t overly big, and he has just three career sacks. However, Marks, 26, is still young and, he is a former second-round pick.

Free agent DT Sen’Derrick Marks’ rep insists his client is receiving “plenty” of interest, but doesn’t expect a new deal with the Titans.
Marks hasn’t been publicly linked to any teams since the start of free agency, but is supposedly “entertaining offers from other teams, long and short term.” Marks’ rep said the Titans don’t have “any interest” in a short-term deal. That would suggest they’re only interested in bringing him back if the bulk of the cap charge can be offloaded to future seasons. Marks is going to get role-player money.
