Angels re-signed RHP Shaun Anderson to a minor league contract.
Anderson returns to the fold as extra organizational relief depth for Los Angeles after electing free agency over the weekend. The 30-year-old journeyman reliever has compiled a bloated 7.59 ERA across 10 2/3 innings (six appearances) this season for the Angels.

Shaun Anderson has elected free agency.
The 30-year-old hurler cleared waivers after being designated for assignment on Friday, but rather than accepting an outright assignment to Triple-A Salt Lake, he’ll explore other opportunities on the open market instead. Anderson posted a 7.59 ERA, 1.78 WHIP and a 10/3 K/BB ratio over 10 2/3 innings in six appearances with the Halos.

Angels designated RHP Shaun Anderson for assignment.
Well, that was quick. Anderson had been designated for assignment at the end of May, but had his contract selected by the Angels on Monday. Four days later, the 30-year-old is back on the waiver wire with Sam Bachman taking his roster spot.

Angels selected the contract of RHP Shaun Anderson from Triple-A Salt Lake.
Anderson provides Los Angeles with a fresh relief arm heading into Monday’s series opener against the Athletics. The 30-year-old journeyman has made five appearances this season for the Angels. He’ll likely operate in middle relief and can be safely ignored for fantasy purposes.

Angels sent RHP Shaun Anderson outright to Triple-A Salt Lake.
Andersone went unclaimed on waivers after being jettisoned from Los Angeles’ bullpen mix over the weekend. The 30-year-old journeyman will remain with the club as extra organizational relief depth for now.

Angels designated RHP Shaun Anderson for assignment.
Anderson gets the boot from the active and 40-man roster with Caden Dana promoted from Triple-A to take his place. The 30-year-old veteran could see interest on the waiver wire, but is just as likely to report back to Triple-A Salt Lake at this stage of his career.

Shaun Anderson earned his first victory since 2019 on Sunday, giving up one run on one hit over 2 2/3 innings against the Dodgers.
Anderson was called upon with two men on and one out in the seventh inning with the Angels leading 4-1. He got Mookie Betts on a fly ball to center field but then served up a game-tying three-run homer to Will Smith. The Angels would take the lead back in the top half of the eighth though, and Anderson retired the Dodgers in order in each of the next two innings to close it out. It’s the first win for the 30-year-old right-hander since he won three games for the Giants way back during the 2019 campaign. He now sports a 2.45 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and a 9/2 K/BB ratio over 7 1/3 innings in his first three appearances with the Halos.

Angels selected the contract of RHP Shaun Anderson from Triple-A Salt Lake.
The 30-year-old hurler struggled through his first seven starts at Triple-A Salt Lake, posting an unappealing 5.06 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and a 30/13 K/BB ratio over 37 1/3 innings. He’ll provide the Halos with a fresh arm out of the bullpen that’s capable of logging multiple innings.
