19-year-old forward Justin Ellis scored the only goal as the USMNT beat its northern neighbors Canada 1-0 in St. Paul, Minnesota, to complete a perfect four-for-four international window on Tuesday.
USA 3-0 MEXICO — Recap, highlights | Player ratings | What did we learn?
The goal is Ellis’s second in three appearances for the USMNT (two starts, all this window) after scoring just four minutes into his debut against Peru last week.
Mauricio Pochettino made six changes to the team that beat bitter rivals Mexico 3-0 on Saturday, but they kept a clean sheet for the second straight game and made it four wins from four games to kick off the 2030 World Cup cycle in style.
The new-look Yanks scored 11 goals in three wins against Peru, Chile and Mexico over the last 11 days, led by 18-year-old forward Julian Hall (a goal in each of his first three caps), 17-year-old midfielder Cavan Sullivan (one goal, becoming the youngest-ever scorer in USMNT history) and World Cup veteran Malik Tillman (two goals).

19-year-old forward Justin Ellis looked like he was going to have to come off with an ankle injury, but just minutes later he got on the scoresheet for the second time in his USMNT career (both this window). Alex Freeman and Malik Tillman worked a fantastic one-two down the right side and Freeman had a go from inside the box — probably headed wide, if not for Ellis timing his arrival to perfection.
