Arsenal 2-3 Olympiacos: Ospina OG sinks Gunners
Arsenal is yet to earn a point in Group F of the Champions League, falling to Greek side Olympiacos 3-2 today at the Emirates.
Twice the Gunners came back from a goal down to draw level, but they couldn’t overcome a brutal mistake by David Ospina in goal as they now face a massive battle to advance to the knockout rounds.

The visitors took the lead in the 32nd minute, as Felipe Pardo capitalized on a corner kick. Arsenal’s clearance popped out to Pardo at the top of the box, whose shot made it through traffic and into the bottom corner.
However, Arsenal drew level just minutes later as Theo Walcott equalized for the Gunners. Walcott ran onto a through ball from Alexis Sanchez and finished home, as the speedy striker continued his great scoring form.

But then, David Ospina made a terrible mistake in goal which handed the lead back to Olympiacos. Ospina was caught off his line on an in-swinging corner kick, and couldn’t recover in time to keep the ball out. The Colombian tried to catch the ball, but ended up doing so in his own net, as the assistant referee confirmed the ball crossed the line.
Trailing 2-1 at the break, Arsenal came out firing in the second half in search of an equalizer. After a few close calls, the Gunners were eventually rewarded for their pressure in the 65th minute. Walcott played in a cross to Alexis Sanchez, who flew into the box unmarked and powered a header into the back of the net. After a poor first half, Arsenal looked to be back in control.
However, that didn’t last long as Olympiacos scored immediately off the restart, driving down the field to regain the lead. Former Leicester City midfielder Esteban Cambiasso played a clever chip over the Arsenal defense, and Alfred Finnbogasan got a touch on the cross to make it 3-2 in favor of the Greeks.
After falling behind once again, the Gunners continued to pressure but were unable to find a third goal. After losing to Dinamo Zagreb in the opening match and now falling to Olympiacos, Arsenal sits at the bottom of Group F with zero points. With their next two matches both against Bayern Munich, Arsene Wenger’s men could realistically start Champions League play with four straight losses.
