Huddersfield Town’s Mathias Jorgensen, affectionately known as Zanka, is giving the Terriers fans a festive gift.

“Zanka Claus” is coming to town. I’ll get my coat...

In a lovely gesture the Danish center back has paid for a beer for every Huddersfield fan who makes the trip away to Southampton this weekend.

With over 2,500 Terriers supporters expected to make the 472-mile round trip to the South Coast from Yorkshire, on arrival to St Mary’s stadium they will be given a beer token.

The fans can then take this token to Huddersfield’s home game on Boxing Day against Stoke City at the John Smith’s Stadium (aptly named after a beer company) and redeem their pint. The gesture will likely cost Zanka over $11,000.

It’s a classy gift from the defender as Huddersfield’s players continue to be an integral part of their local community and David Wagner’s men have fed off the incredible energy from their fans to sit comfortably in midtable at the midway point of their debut Premier League campaign.
