After Real Madrid’s weekend draw with Valencia that left their La Liga title hopes bleeding out, Gareth Bale’s agent took the opportunity to stand up for his client.
“Real have to work with Gareth and pass him the ball more” said Jonathan Barnett.
It didn’t go over well at the Bernabeu.

Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti said he thinks Bale’s agent “would have been better to stay quiet” and said that “some people talk too much.”
Bale started and played the full 90 minutes in the 2-2 draw against Valencia over the weekend, attempting five shots but only one on target. He received 33 passes and completed 19/25 passes to teammates. In the first leg of their Champions League semifinal against Juventus, Bale was much less visible in a striker role alongside Cristiano Ronaldo. He received just 22 passes, including just six in the final 15 minutes, and managed just a single blocked shot.
