Four goals inside 30 minutes see Spurs, Everton lead

Dog

Tottenham and Everton have early leads in the Premier League games this Sunday morning.

None of the goals were scored by that adorable Everton dog, unfortunately.

Everton scored in under four minutes on the road at Turf Moor when Samuel Eto’o picked up his first-ever away goal in Premier League action when he headed home a Leighton Baines cross.

But they would be pegged back as Danny Ings picked up his first Premier League goal and just Burnley’s fifth goal of this season as Romelu Lukaku put down a terrible back pass right to Lukas Jutkiewicz who slotted through Ings to beat Tim Howard one-on-one.

It was all Burnley since that moment, as they look for their first win of the season. Burnley is the only team in the top four leagues of English soccer who have yet to record a win.

However, Lukaku atoned for his mistake by hitting back against the run of play to restore Everton’s lead just before the half-hour mark.

At White Hart Lane, Emmanuel Adebayor crashed home a header on a fantastic cross from local London product Ryan Mason to give Spurs a lead over Newcastle, who look erratic so far.

Alan Pardew won last week at home against Leicester City, and any points today would see them out of the relegation zone, but so far the Magpies seem second-best to the quality of Spurs after their positive midweek result.

Still plenty of time in both these matches, which are both live online at NBC Sports Live Extra.
