Andoni Iraola oversees his first Premier League match at Anfield early Saturday when Oliver Glasner’s Nottingham Forest arrive in pursuit of a first win of the season.
The Reds came back twice against new-look Newcastle United in Week 1 but a win was expected and Iraola will very much want Alexander Isak and his teammates to be much, much better at both ends in their home opener.

Glasner’s Forest lost 1-0 to Leeds United in Week 1 and then were blanked by the same foe in League Cup play at midweek. Dialing up under two expected goals over those 180 minutes is not an encouraging sign.
But Forest have Morgan Gibbs-White, Chris Wood, and a host of proven players who will plan on attacking Anfield with vigor.

Had Isak brought his finishing boots that could’ve been a much different game, as he accounted for 1.09 xG. Victor Munoz won a late penalty and has a very good shout to start over young Rio Ngumoha as Liverpool sort out right wing post-Mohamed Salah.
Forest’s midfield held its own against Leeds in the opener but the Tricky Trees disappointed in Forest. Gibbs-White was average while Dan Ndoye and Igor Jesus couldn’t turn half-chances and full chances into goals. Xavier Schlager could come into the Starting XI, as could Chris Wood. Will Liam Delap be an option by the weekend? Forest are said to be close to signing Chelsea youngster Delap as a younger Wood.
