Little yappy hands: the “fight” between Ferguson and Mancini



The day after the biggest match in English Premier League history, a contest of exquisitely skilled men, between clubs steeped in rich legacies, a match with so many implications near and far-reaching, and what is everybody talking about?

A wee coaching spat, where little yappy hands were the choice of weaponry.

Oh, boys! Come on then.

So what was Ferguson so twisted up about? He accused Manchester City counterpart Roberto Mancini of harassing the officials, or trying to “referee the game” while his Red Devils went down (rather meekly) to the Noisy Neighbors at the Etihad Stadium.

Here is the sequence in question, all happening after a clumsy Nigel de Jong tackled felled United forward Danny Welbeck near the sideline.
