Mikel Arteta reaction — What did Arsenal manager say after big win vs Nottingham Forest?

The reaction from Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta following their easy win against Nottingham Forest was relaxed and happy.

MOREArsenal vs Nottingham Forest recap, analysis

Martin Zubimendi scored in each half, while Viktor Gyokeres scored early in the second half to make it 2-0 and essentially seal the win for the Gunners against Forest as their new manager Ange Postecoglou had a tough outing.

Arteta applauded plenty from the sidelines, but he does have another injury issue to deal with as Martin Odegaard had to come off early as he appeared to suffer another shoulder problem.

Here’s the latest Mikel Arteta reaction following Arsenal’s win vs Nottingham Forest.

Mikel Arteta reaction

On the performance and win: “Very good after the international break. The players have been away a long time. It’s always a question mark. Are we going to glide and connect together again? I think the team certainly did that. To win in the Premier League 3-0. Another clean sheet is very important. Some players it was their first time starting as well and had some big performances as well. Overall, very good.”

On Martin Zubimendi’s goals: “Unbelievable. Two very different goals in terms of execution. He’s come into the team and the club and you feel a real presence, a real authority in everything he does on the pitch as well. On top of that if he can contribute to the scoreline with goals, what else can we ask?”

On Gyokeres, Eze, Madueke: “They were very good the three of them. With their own qualities and complemented each other really well. I think Noni [Madueke] was outstanding again. He looks a real threat. Viktor really intelligent. Could have scored two or three. Ebz gives you something that is a different kind of flow, connection. Very unpredictable as well.”

On tough choices in attack when Saka returns to fitness and others pushing: “This is what we want. When you look around other clubs and the squads they have built. We all have the same. You want to be competing at the highest level. We already lost Kai for three or four months. We lost Bukayo now four weeks as well. We need those replacements. In the Premier League it is so tough.”

On Martin Odegaard’s shoulder injury: “To come off, I think it is the same shoulder he hurt last time. He was uncomfortable continue. That is a shame because he played with the national team and was feeling good. Suddenly something happened again.”

On Odegaard being ready to face Athletic Bilbao in the Champions League on Tuesday: “He is certainly going to be doing everything from now on to be ready for Tuesday. I can guarantee you that. But I don’t know.”

Viktor Gyokeres reaction

Is there a better feeling than scoring for Arsenal? “No, it feels amazing. Great feeling to score and of course to get the win as well. It was great,” Gyokeres said.

On feeling settled: “It feels great. The guys in the team have been amazing. It has been so easy to get into the group. It is a bit of a time when you have to settle in with everything around. It feels good.”

On playing with Eze and Madueke: “Those two are amazing. In their positions they always do something special. We could definitely see that today.”

On Zubimendi’s goal: “I haven’t seen him do it in training. It was good that he pulled that one out. And with the header as well. I’m a but surprised too.”

On Champions League: “We have the game in Champions League on Tuesday. We prepare for that one and it is a competition we want to compete in. We want to go there and try to get a win.”
